Man, that sling from Henry really goes well with and compliments that beautiful stick of wood! A bit tough getting used to the Nikon, however! Mike ______________ DSC DRSS (again) SCI Life NRA Life Sables Life Mzuri IPHA "To be a Marine is enough."

It needs a good Trijicon-- I am not that impressed with the Two tone sling--all black or all brown for me

Mike I like that sling, on that rifle, I think it matches up pretty good with the wood. And Cross, normally I like the black with black lace, or dark brown with the black lace, but I kinda like this one, on this rifle. All a matter of individual taste on that one I think. Now, yesterday, for some reason I could not get this rifle to shoot with the Raptors? Hell, same rifle I used in April with such good success, 9.3 Raptors were one hole deals? So I thought the damned stock changed something--Or that Nikon Scope had busted? I must have shot 50 rounds of Raptors checking different things. I brought the rifle in, tore it apart, removed scope, checked bases, I even cleaned the damned thing. Checked the stock, could not see an issue. Put a new scope on went back out, same story, Raptors going all over the place????? Well, having to test these new 3 blade 9.3 NonCons, I had some 255s loaded up, only 5. So I shot them, and they all 5 went in a hole at 50! Hmmmmm???? I don't have a clue--Just makes no sense to me at all? OK, so go back in load up several 255s now, back to the range and again, all the 255s go in a hole 1 inch high, dead center, everything holding tight. Load some 280s, they are 1/2 inch lower, dead center, all in a hole. For the life of me, I can't figure why they Raptors have stopped shooting in that rifle? Regardless, I loaded up 255 NonCons and a few 280 Solids--they will be going on this trip in this rifle. We will find out how the 3 blades do on buffalo shoulders in the smaller caliber NonCons. So, speaking of Nikons--I still was not 100% sure of that 2X8 Nikon. So I put it on my light weight, 6.5 lb 416 B&M. Did a quick bore sight, and shot 5 rounds of 300 Raptors in one hole, dead center, 2 inches high, never turned a knob. After the group, I lowered it an inch and just now came off the range. Nothing wrong with that Nikon! So far, have broken no Nikons. Some sort of record now! Cross, will be happy to know, my 1X4 Trijicon is on the 475 B&M Super Short and it's going to Australia. The 475 B&M and the 50 B&M Super Short are fitted with 1X4 Nikons, and the 9.3 B&M fitted with the 2X8 Nikon you see in the above photos. So far, Nikons and Trijicons, no breaks or failures. Boomy New Strap, Ultimate stock, I don't know what those Raptors want, but don't have the time to work the problem now. Using the new tips, sames ones I used in April? I shot with and without tips, and made no difference. I am tied up now working on a 458 Lott for a fellow. Almost ready to send it out for him, but damned things over rides the cartridge left side second down 1 out of every 10 times? Bugs! G-Damned bugs! Think I have it however, little more spring tension seems to have pushed the ass end up some. Headed to the range, packing too, got to get my mess together! OK OK, busted. I do like the Black with black lace, and it looks good on Momma too! Yeah, when no one was looking maybe I did.................., well, never mind that now. I have something important to note here. Now we see how easy by the above content that one can take things out of context. Just take a look at what my boy Cross has to say, and give this some thought!
Now that could mean all sorts of things? Use your imagination! How about this one from RIP
Now can you imagine what could be taken out of context over on the terminal thread with the recent activities and comments on the RN Cap for NonCons? Just for example this one from Cappy over on terminals

Got some news from Henry last night--He got two embossing plates done for the B&M leather goods! Leather stamping looks great! Shot nyala no problem with 500 MDM. The bushbuck however was a bit of a problem. We were coming back to camp with just about 20 minutes of light left on last evening. A 14" Limpopo bushbuck jumps out of the bush. We are in an open topped vehicle. So I decide it is right now as he is quickly moving away. I have to twist my torso completely sideways to make the shot. Anyway, I am quite sure I now need a chiropractor. I suppose I will never learn!

Mike Absolutely, Henry is FIRST CLASS! And, YOUR Cartridge Slide design is the best I have ever seen. I have my carry on packed with 3 of the 10 round, and 3 of the 5 round, they will be used by me and the boys this coming week. I have all ideas, they will see some serious use too! So that is 3 shooters on my side, Brent, Cross, yourself and Carl. You did very good snooping Henry out for us, and a great job on the cartridge slides. A+ all the way. Brent, I spent 18 days in 2011 with a bad issue in my back and down my leg. I got relief in Pretoria with a chiropractor named Kobus something or other. Young chap, and absolutely the best I have ever been to, cured me in two visits. I can get to his office, but damned if I can tell you how to. In the Lynnwood area, Church Street I think. HEH HEH.......... You will want the "Dry Needle" treatment! Coyote We did have a great trip, and oh my, we learned a hell of a lot as well! For those of you with 50 B&M Super Shorts---It is now 100% confirmed, the 50 B&M Super Short has graduated to a real honest to god Buffalo Rifle! And I don't mean just adequate either, I mean stomp a buffalos ass in the dirt! 475 B&M has also achieved this status as well! These Australian buffalo are NOT PUSHOVERS either, that some have led some to believe. They are BIGGER than ANY CAPE BUFFALO ever heard of, especially a big prime bull like both my boys took! In addition to these two bulls, the two Super Shorts busted the hell out of many big cow buffalo as well, and we are talking SLAMMING them to the dirt on the spot! Between myself, Paul Truccolo and Sam we all concur that from observations we have seen in our buffalo shooting careers that the Super Shorts did anything a 458 Win or 458 Lott can do, and in many cases far better! My boys did some INCREDIBLE shooting too--I am an EXTREMELY PROUD DAD! They shot, and acted like SEASONED PROs, and by damn, they are seasoned Pros now! My Son Mark David and his bull, and the 475 B&M Super Short. This bull was taking with a 320 gr BBW#13 NonCon HP through the shoulders, recovered on the FAR side shoulder. Followup shot of the 350 BBW#13 Solid, quartering rear shot, traveled 44 inches and exited that same far shoulder. It was over at that point, but Mark David was so fast that he put another 350 BBW#13 Solid dead up the from the rear--All Three Shots Dead Perfect Spot On! Terminal Performance, Incredible to say the least, but will talk more about that on Terminals later. Mark David also shot a fine boar hog. This boar was hiding behind some trees, in deep shadows. Mark Davids first shot busted the center out of one of those trees, 320 BBW#13 NonCon, I think 2300 fps, one of the most incredible followup shots I have seen, up the rear of the boar, and in a few yards it was history at that point. Marks first shot through the tree hit the boar low mid section, cutting along the belly, effectively gutting him. Matthew Daniel shot an absolutely HUGE BODY big bull. This thing was a beast, every bit 20%-25% bigger than any cape buffalo that ever lived on the planet. The photos of these just do not tell you just how big these things are, and how tough as well. I had Matthew use the 375 gr North Fork CPS, and 375 gr North Fork NEW DESIGN FPS Solids on this big beast. Matt got a bit confused, and with this buffalo it was a fluid situation, Matt had two 375 gr North Fork CPS (Expanding Cup Points) up front, and followed by one solid. The two 375 Gr North Fork CPS were recovered on the FAR SIDE Shoulder, and the big buff reacted as if you had busted him with something really bad. The two bullets were 2 inches apart, far side! INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE. The 375 North Fork New Nose Profile Solid Exited after 40+ inches of dead straight penetration! Matt and Paul Truccolo! Matt also shot a fine boar hog, and several buffalo cows with his 50 B&M Super Short--They might be short, but they damn sure don't come up short in performance! Hammers! Absolute Hammers! Jim I had the boys in a couple of refresher courses before leaving and they handled the rifles and shooting very well here on the range. I was not very concerned about Matt, he is a dandy shooter. Mark David had a few problems back in 2008 getting a bit nervous, buck fever, or something along those lines, and I was a little worried with him, even though he shot well here. Well, Mark was only 15 or so in 2008, and his shooting has matured and become seasoned. He had zero issues, and in fact did some totally incredible shooting. I had let Mark David go with Paul on their own after his bull, while Dad stayed out of the way. They were out of sight and Dad is pacing a trench in the Australian ground! When the shooting started I began to sweat, Dad did not know what was going on! Finally Paul walked out of the bush 250 yards or more away, waving his hand, and we then went to the scene! On arrival, Mark David's shooting had been PERFECT, 1st shot, 2cd and 3rd followups, just like he had been taught, and shot placement absolutely spot on--He did not stop shooting until his problem was solved, and in the dirt! Oh Yes, I was Extremely Proud! Michael http://www.b-mriflesandcartridges.com/default.html The New Word is "Non-Conventional", add "Conventional" to the Endangered Species List! Those two boys(men) of Michael's are well seasoned now. I don't think I have ever seen two first time dangerous game hunters so calm and tuned in. They both shot extremely well and Mark David was spot on with follow-ups even if not needed. He is one fast bolt gun shooter. His follow up shots on running away animals cut the center of the tail bone. I saw this 2 if not three times. Neither of the guys give a buffalo a chance to die, they fill them full of brass as they are falling. Sam

Boomy It was the Pig! That pig was in some heavy shadows the other side of that set of trees. He thought he was hidden, and was to an extent. It was very hard to see what was what in the shadows and the pig being black as smut to boot! The 320 BBW#13 NonCon from the 475 Super Short busted through the tree, and zippered the belly of the pig. He took off like a bat from hell, Mark David made an incredible follow up shot up the rear end. I believe another 320 BBW#13 NonCon, pig went about 50 yards or so, down, Mark finished what he started. To say I am proud of both of them is an understatement!
