Bill Mc... an analogy?...well, okay, I will take a shot at that challenge.. In my hobby of making knives, I have learned a few things about how to tell if the steel I have found will make a good knife. What the steel needs is a high carbon content and to learn this you first harden the steel in the forge and quench in oil, then run the steel into a spinning grinder to examine the resulting sparks. You compare the sparks with the sparks from a known good source and you are able to tell if the steel you got is worth working with, or is garbage. In a way, this same principle is also true with people too. If you want to learn if a person has some moral character you only have to heat the steel and grind on them a little. In this case when a person, is faced with some sort of frustrating problem and responds by lashing out in a very unchristian way, then you know he is not worth the effort. That instead of an interesting mind, you have ended up dealing with a sack on his shoulders filled with garbage.

Just when you thought it couldnt get any worse he strikes again. I think that truly this guy has no shame nor or there any limits to which he will sink. He just recently started a thread on his own forum with a link to metal work pictures by Jack Belk and a subject line praising his work. If you will think back it was Swamps totally unsubstantiated allegations about and attacks against Jack Belk that played a huge roll in the infamous banning spree. Now here he is starting a thread praising the man. Maybe he now thinks kind words will generate hits where before it was cruel words to make the others laugh.

Blue For a lawyer, you sure make a lot of assumptions without a lot of facts. I'd suggest you do a search on HA regrading Belk and Swamps commentary on him, but I'm sure it's all been deleted.

Blue I thought I recalled you saying your profession was the law, one I find respectable in spite of the lawyer jokes out there. It wasn't a insult. It doesn't matter anyway. You spend way too much time here trying to tell us how to behave in regards to Swamp and public slander, when you don't even know what the hell the point of my post is. If you had any idea what a hippocrit he is posting something like that, which I did read, you might understand. I still think you're a plant.

Blue I wanted to make sure my recollection of your profession was correct... "I have been practicing law for quite some time now, and over the years it has struck me how it is those who are guilty theirselves yell the loudest about their innocence, while those who are innocent have a quiet calm and resvere about them" It was, I really like the part about those who are guilty yelling the loudest! it goes nicely with this "You piss me off with this lawyer shit. What are you so I can say the same thing back to you!"

Blue your disadvantage is you come into this too late. Many people have had issues with Jack Belk over the last 1-2 years. Many of those problems have been aired on the various bulletin boards, one such which was HA. As with all these differences I am sure the truth was somewhere in the middle. As is also true with these Internet flare-ups people with no vested interest in, nor personal knowledge of, the issues become the most outspoken in expressing their opinions. The Jack Belk issue was no exception. One thing Swamp has a great weakness for is taking statements, which have in no way been proven true, and using them as a foundation to build his house-of-cards upon. He then proceeds to holler, from the rooftop, for or against whatever person or thing that caught his eye that week. Some time ago he cried foul against the overpriced Dakota rifles. They became an advertiser and he posted the most outlandish of claims about how they are the greatest of them all. He had no personal foundation upon which to base his claims, in fact other statements and actions by Swamp proved he was lacking in knowledge and therefore incapable of having an informed opinion. But I digress as we have already covered that. Anyway it was about the same time as the Dakotas are the greatest posts that he decided to jump on the anti Jack Belk bandwagon. Now dont misunderstand me, where there is smoke there is fire and in Jacks case there has been lots of smoke. Point is though Swamp jumped on Jack in a transparent attempt to create controversy, generate hits to his sight and appeal to all the Jack bashers out there. Swamp has had none, nor is having any business dealings with Jack, has no personal knowledge of the man, and has absolutely nothing to base his opinions and statement upon other then posts about him on the internet; most of which are obviously sour grapes from people in no position to know. It was questions about his personal knowledge of Dakotas, AND his baseless attacks upon Jack Belk that where questioned by many and their posts and posting privileges were removed from his bulletin board. Such action is within his Right but was not right. Now he posts a link to Jack Belks work and makes positive comments about it. We notice and just when you thought he couldnt sink any lower he outdoes himself again.

Howard I understood most of that from the begining due to some private emails that I received. But as I said, whether or not Jack screwed somebody or not, from the photos I have seen, he is a very fine metalworker. From what I heard, he is not such a good businessman. That is why I said that it would be nice if I had a business such as a gun business. I would hire him to do metal work and relive him of the business end of it. Get all of those people taken care of that still have issues with him. And then get on with the business of letting him make fine custom guns for he does it very very well. I do not like it when people attack my profession, and I am not a "plant". Nevertheless, I hereby publicly apologise to Dempsey for getting overly upset. I complained about others doing it and I shouldn't be doing it. Sorry Mr. Dempsey. Howard, what in the hell are you doing up so late at night? Isn't it way past your bedtime. blue

Blue you are all right in my book. Jimmy thinks you act like him and, well not sure thats a good thing but maybe not all bad either. Jack is capable of turning out fine work and I have no problem with links to photos of it being posted unless its people like Swamp who put him down one month and want to praise and call attention to his work the next. As far as attacking your professionwell you could find honest work Its only 9:40 here, not quite past my bedtime.

Ha-ha old Swamp, aka, Marshal, aka Fredrick Talbot is at it again. He is lecturing people on muzzle breaks and the proper caliber to use for Brown Bears. What do you want to bet the closest Swamp/Marshall/Fredrick has been to a brown bear is some cut&pasteable web link?

Jimmy, You need to stop fooling around with those wimpy rounds. Try my .218/.338/500BMG. 46 grain hornet bullet at light speed. The drop matches the curvature of the earth and if you happen to be shooting in a place that has no large mountain ranges in it's path, you will need a backstop or it will circumnavigate the globe and hit you in the back. The bottom bullet is a .338 Win mag for comparison.
