They are starting to make the run of PH actions at MRC, so any of you wantigng a big thread on th eaction for my 700H or other big cases let them know, if you are on the list. They plan on making big threaded ones along with regular threaded ones.Ask for a 1.2 inch x 16 thread. Ed MZEE WA SIKU

Just confirmed my order with for the 1.2" - 16 thread. Jeff said they should be shipping late April to early May. Now I've got lots of gun building to get to. Not sure what they are going to be. One will be the 700 DA (700 Hubel Short). Now what to do with the other 8 actions. I bet I get lots of ideas in Houston on Sunday.

Ed, Getting ready to send a new P.O. to MRC confirming the changes to my original order... Any idea as to barrels for the 700H on the PH action? Pacnor? Matt V. ______________________ Sometimes there is no spring... Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm...

Pacnor does good work. Two of mine are from them. And Pacnor has a 1.35" blank size, and a 1.5" blank size, and they will profile also. With these sizes you can match bore and PH action size. If any of you aren't on the PH order list, call MRC, see if they would put you on to get in on the initial run. ED MZEE WA SIKU

What cartriges will require the larger thread? Or better stated, at what point will the larger size become necessary? ****************************************************************** R. Lee Ermey: "The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle." ****************************************************************** We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! My 700HE long and short, 600 Nitro, the properly called "685AHR", Macs wildcat, The short version of Rob's 700, 50 cal spotter, other 50 cal shortened target cases. Other cases would benefit recoilwise, from the ability to put in a barrel bigger than 1.2" at breech, like those you might want a 13 lb gun instead of a 9 lb one.Like doing a 600 OK in a 1.35" barrel. They are copying both Mauser and Win, and they scaled up action to 1.505 dia, but reduced barrel thread size to smaller than Nauser by 1/16 inch. So there are the reasons we asked for thread size to be scaled up for some of them.Ed MZEE WA SIKU

Quote form jeff at MRC today: "505 Gibbs bolt faces but that is the largest bolt face we will do. ALL of them are going to come with the 1.2 X 16 threads. Jeff" So I guess that is good news for us nutso big bore guys. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

Hi guys, been a while since I have been able to get on here. We are about 90% finished with the molds and should have first article soon. So yes April/May is still the goal. But just remember that is what we are pushing for and sometimes production on a new project can get sidestepped on something. I am praying that everything is perfect first time around but anyone who was around when we first did the short and long actions will remember different. I think we learned a lot from that so hopefully those delays will be minimized but just keep that in mind. We are going to go with the larger threads because Ed harrased me some much and the restraining order did no good.....hahaha just kidding Ed. In reallity it makes sense to go with the larger threads to keep more wall thickness over the chamber. I appreciate all of you calling in because it's things like this that help us out too. We want to bring you the best product we can and if there are ideas out there that can help we will always take them under consideration. But please don't take that as an invitation to call up and start telling us how to run everthing. ....haha We look forward to bringing the PH to you. Jeff

I thank you Jeff for the great effort you, Devin, and company are making toward getting actions produced that will take my 700s and other big cases. I know just from my wildcatting hobby work how hard it is to get new actions, cartridges, ideas, etc, designed let alone getting production. Thanks much.Ed MZEE WA SIKU

take the diameter of the minor, subtract the case diameter, and in a .700 based case, a 1.2 (less 1/16 inch) makes far better sense than a 1.1-1/12 of an inch .. 1.1375 vs 1.01667 ... I'll take an 1/8 of an inch more steel, thanks .... to put it another way, I suggested the 1.2x16 as a 16 pitch has alot of surface area, basically double that of a 1/12, to hold the action together, and a 1.2 is a large, but not "stupidly" large, shank... it was the best i could suggest, opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? And the other important item in getting more strength between action and barrel, with that thread guys will use 1.35 inch barrels instead of 1.2 inch barrels. Adds more strength to resist expansion in big cases thus keeping in sync with bigger dia action in resisting stresses. They will be much stronger, than doing big cases in regular actions. Haven't been around in awhile, is this a different deal then the the original "list" we had going for several years to get enough to start production? I was on it and waiting on fruition to forward FFL and Payment. Thanks, Mike

Mike- If you were on original list and didn't tell them to take you off you should call them and make sure you are still on and interested. They had all of us interested call them again last year, after a few posts on here last year..Ed MZEE WA SIKU

they called yesterday and told me they would charge my card this week to pay for triggers, etc. They also have stocks available thru Accurate Innovations (synthetic) and Lone Wolf (wood) I think I have them right. I expect to be able to pick mine up about June 4th on the way to the Helena shoot and tour the factory. $625 is a great price. Rich DRSS Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost...

I paid for mine two days ago. I am going chrome moly with their stainless barrel. I had one of there barrels on my 375 H&H, It was 1/2 moa all the way to 300 yards and did not foul at all. I am thinking 505, What would be a easy to do 550.? JD DRSS 9.3X74 tika 512 9.3X74 SXS Merkel 140 in 470 Nitro

depends, I am prejudiced of course, but Hornady makes 550 Gibbs dies, the brass is available form RNS, and Macifej makes great solids. Bullet moulds are reasonably priced. My reamers are available to AR members. Rich DRSS Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost...

Seeing as how the PH magazine takes cases up to 4.05 inches overal length my 700H case will work, with loaded length of 3.9 to 3.95"(3.25"case) ...But if you don't want quite that big there is the 585 belted with overall loaded length of 3.85" with a 750 gr Woodleigh crimped in groove..It will outdo trex easy, and revamped reamer will be ready in few weeks. Two nice straight simple cases, reloadable many times. That's the best two uses I see of PH action ,the 700H or 585 Belted. Ed MZEE WA SIKU

The 700 Hubel Short, AKA (as requested) 700 DA, is the case that John and I came up with as the reason for the PH action, and Ed was happy to work with us on. take a BMG case, belt it, rebate the rim, cut off the case to 3.25" You'll know why its a DA when you pull the trigger opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I will have the specs for dies for the 700H 3.25 and 585BHE at CH4D next week, and Manson for reamers. The 2 official names. Now that good price PH actions are coming , and guys are using other longer actions, the 585 Belted won't be cut off case, and new reamer is being done by me. I screwed up by agreeing to cut case back and taking my initials off, as I already had one here and tested for a while. First reamer wasn't quite right. It is my problem and I'm fixing it. With actions available there is no reason to shorten case. And we will definately outdo Art... Ed MZEE WA SIKU

ok Ed, you have my undivided attention. Will CH4D have a shell holder for your50BMG/700HE 3.25", and what is the rebated rim diameter going to be? Should I get with Steve Brooks and design a cast bullet for it, or just use yours? Can you post a big photo of your bullet array, please? Rich DRSS Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost...
