I know this isn't the place for this type of post, but I absolutely don't understand why so many people get their panties in a wad about the way Sullivan hunts and promotes himself. Personally I think it's some type of underlying envy that he has the balls to do what others won't and resent him for it.

xxxxxxxxxx
When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Gato, I have shot game really close.

I have been within all but touching distance of elephant and buffalo. I like close.

I have had one charge by an animal, and it was a confused bushbuck of all things.

To have as many charges as Mr. Sullivan has he's doing something odd/wrong. To live to tell it shows he's good at what he does.

Anyhow, back to the main point here- don't deal with someone like Blair who refuses to stand up for their customer.

I suspect that Blair is right in that he did nothing illegal, his contract covers his ass there. I suspect that because he did nothing illegal, SCI refuses under fear of legal action to do anything about it.

I still don't have to buy a hunt from him, even if he's at the convention.

Mainly, he told the folks at the convention that he wouldn't do what they asked (allegedly anyhow...) Note that MS has not been thrown out of SCI, they just chose not to allow him to exhibit; and obviously he has enough business without SCI so he probably doesn't want to go through a lawsuit (or threaten one) just to get back on the floor.

Say what you will about MS, no one has said he's not a gentleman in person- personally its his showmanship or persona on camera that annoys me.

I can add it seems Blair is getting more and more desperate to sell and book hunts. 7 out of the last 9 days I have received a solicitation email from BWW, basically from the end of the convention till now. Tells me that the booking for him at SCI was not good

I never saw anyone there talking to them.

A year ago a list of operators was emailed out by Blair. I sent every PH an email letting them know where I stood and I posted it on here. A lot of people here thought I was wrong for doing that. I wasn't trying to hurt the PH's, I was letting them know what kind of trash they were affiliated with

I will never do business with anybody that uses Jeff Blair as a booking agent

A friend of mine was selling a bear hunt to a guy and the potential client send him an email back asking why his hunts are more expensive than a hunt offering he had received via email. That other offering was from none other that Jeff freaking Blair. This is how Jeff Blair stays afloat. He preys upon the uninformed client that is simply looking for the "best deal" out there. Jeff Blair hires telemarketers for Christ's sake! He doesn't even use professional consultants. He is into sheer quantity, not quality

I told my buddy to direct that potential client to this thread as it's pretty self explanatory. Hell, goggle the guy, negative reports are everywhere.

Ask them what Mark Sullivan was charged with. They kicked him out.

They use the "he wasn't charged" excuse to justify taking Blairs money. Screw SCI, allowing trash like Blair to advertise with them is part of the reason why he'll stay in business

This Blair guy seems like a real creep! This may be off topic, but not all booking agents are bad guys. Many years ago I booked my first out of state hunting trip, a trophy mule deer hunt, through Jack Atcheson Sr. from Montana. I paid the hunt in full, prior to the hunt. One week before the hunt, a family emergency arose, and I was unable to make the hunt. I called Mr. Atcheson and explained what happened. Within a week, I had all the money I had paid, returned to me by Mr. Atcheson. I didn't expect to get a penny back, because according to my signed contract, I was well outside the trip cancellation refund period but Mr. Atcheson sent it back, in full along with a letter of condolence and a note asking that I keep his company in mind for any future hunting trips. I used him many times over the years since then, with no issues at all.

These are the type of people I like to do business with. They could've stood by the letter of the contract but they made exceptions due to an emergency. In the long run their business is better off as they made a long term customer/friend and I'm sure you are a walking advertisement for them.

I had a similar situation with an outfitter in Africa where I became sick a week before the trip and could not make it. He held the funds until I was able to make the trip which was 2 years later. At the end of that trip when settle up time came he actually owed me money back as I had sent more then I had spent. And because of what he did for me I told him to keep it. I have now hunted with him 6 times.

Good Hunting,

Well, this whole thread made a very long day go by a lot faster, heh, heh, heh. Not being any kind of hunter(just a shooter), it made for an interesting, fun read.
Traveled a lot during my time as a field engineer and got a chance to get up close (as in 15-20 feet) to moose and caribou as well as a few hundred yards from polar bear and musk ox. Incredible animals to see in the wild.
Wish I had thought to reach out to Saheed when I was in Abu for a couple of years.
To all those lucky enough to enjoy the wilds, stay safe and good hunting.
