Do they really think I'd book a hunt on unsolicited e-mails and phone calls?

This is what worked for me. They called me only once. I told them I had read some pretty bad reviews on Accuratereloading.com. They guy said he would look into it and call me back. I haven't heard from them since and that's been 2 or 3 years ago.

Since it appears that the family doesn't want to take further action, perhaps everyone should register for the do not call list. Then turn him into the government every time they call.

Larry,

I can't believe he thought he was better off ignoring this. Truly dumb.

He is lucky these pages are not exposed to Google Search. For that matter, so is Bill Phifer.

Hey admins, how come you don't expose the forum pages to Google??

Latest email from BWW, every week.........
be sure to tell all your hunting buddies!!!!!
From the reports I have heard about the "Kamchtka Bear hunts" you get on an old military helicopter, fly around until you see a bear, land and walk up to the bear and shoot it with a borrowed russian rifle. Some hunt, huh?
Blair is advertizing it as snowmobile hunt. I would guess along the same principals. Drive around on a snowmobile, see a bear, get off and shoot it with a borrowed russian gun. hoooraaa! I'z a bear hunter

Now is your chance to hunt the famed Kamchatka Peninsula, for brown bear.
Best known as the densest populations of brown bears in the world, the
Kamchatka Peninsula, is a natural choice for the serious brown bear hunter.
Especially those of you that have been unsuccessful in North America! This
area has the highest success rates around. Spring hunts are conducted from
snowmobiles. The hunt is 10 days in length and the hunt price includes
guiding, lodging, meals, interpreters, field preparation of trophies and the
license for 1 bear. Our arrival point is Petropavlovsk on the Kamchatka
Peninsula. Hunt price - $12,000.00, Trophy fee - $3000.00. This hunt will be
escorted. (Limited openings in May of 2014 and 2015 - Book your hunt now)

Call our offices at 928-779-2232 and speak with a Hunt Consultant to get
further information on this great hunt. If you are not looking for a bear
hunt, call and put us to work on one of the other 700 hunts that we offer.
Be sure to forward along to your hunting buddies.

Good Hunting!
Jeff, Audra, Sean, Jim, and Dutch

We could start another thread on his crap Russian bear hunts (of which he is part owner). Don't book them, learn from our mistakes!

Huntress71,

Firstly,

Don't ever book a hunt with Jeff Blair! tu2 With you 100% on that one.

Secondly,

The Kamchatka bear hunt as you described is incorrect. You do get an old military helicopter, but that is to fly you from Petro out to the camp. I've done this hunt twice now, but never with Blair, so it's possible that is how Blair conducts his hunts. I don't know for sure.

But just to be certain, these hunts are great fun. It's a real wilderness experience where you don't see an airplane for the entire time in camp. The area is VAST as in Miles and Miles and Miles of nothing but tundra and salmon chocked streams and rivers. It's a real step back in time by about 150 years. I've heard of guys seeing bears from the snowmobile sled and getting off to shoot but I think that is the exception.

Both of my hunts were in the Fall so no snowmobiles. We hiked up and down the streams and rivers for the first few days, then if unsuccessful, we drove an old Russian armored personnel carrier on tank tracks up into the mountains to find the bears in some of the thickest pine bush (not trees but bushes) you can imagine. They are big on doing drives in these areas and I really preferred the hunting along the streams, but it's a completely different world over there, and certainly an experience worth having!

Anyway, not to stray from the anti Blair message as it's a good one. Just wanted to shed a bit of light on the Kamchatka bear hunts. I'd actually like to do it at least once more, but only if they restart the flights from Anchorage to Petro. That's 5.5 hours. Did it the first trip. The second time was DFW, ORD, Frankfurt, Moscow, stay overnight, then on to Petro, stay overnight, then out to the camp. Crossing 14 time zones! Not going to do that one again!

Cheers

I copied the bear hunt details from Blairs ad. Went on a spring bear hunt booked through Blair. Definitely not as advertised, not even close. Once we are done with the legal issues I will post details. Just don't book with Blair.

WoW! Just took the time to read through it...What a load of monkey s-*t. I hope there is an extra hot spot in hell for jeff Blair and Mr Larry Heathington. I have been in sales all my life, I have had deals that went bad...I tried like hell to make up for them--sometimes all out of my own pocket. I have been fair with my client base, and I will tell you it has paid time and time again. I have gained some of the best friends in my life--and they have provided me with a very nice living. Too bad Jeff and Larry will never find out what true success is--clients that are friends, and a honest living.

Welcome to the top again!

You should correct it for them and email it back. Add sheep hunt, cost $70,000 and you get nothing, no hunt, no sheep and no refund.

After reading the notation on Gato's posts all over A/R I just happened onto this thread several days ago. Been reading at it a few hours the past four nights. Hell of a deal that's for sure.

Since I don't give a damn, and do it for the fun of it and run up their expenses on advertizing I called the other night asking them to mail me their stuff. Hasn't been long enough to get it yet.

Sorry to hear about the family. Apparently their well off enough to absorb such a loss. I sure couldn't do so. I have been thinking of making a PG hunt IF n when my health problems settledown.

Wish you all well and good hunting this fall.

I gone through this thread a couple of times since becoming a member of AR. I never clicked on the website link until now. First... does Jeff know it's the 20th Century because the site looks like sh@t! You think with the money he took he could use it towards a major upgrade. Second... from the site "We want you as a client for a lifetime and no detail is left to chance. There are no gambles when you book with Blair WorldWide Hunting." I can't believe this guy. Talk about someone with no morals.

Just saw the same ad. Most know I really support SCI, but their continuing to accept Blairs' money for ads, knowing he is a crook, is a little disheartening.

I'll try and call/e-mail the ad folks at SCI and get their thoughts and reasoning on dealing with him.

There are other possibilities:

1. The publications director and his advertising staff are unaware of the Blair/Heathington issue.

2. They do know about it, but are reluctant to refuse to sell space to Blair because it might open them and the club to a lawsuit. So far, Blair has not been found guilty of wrongdoing by a court of law and SCI's ethics committee has taken no action on complaints against him.

I got an email from them yesterday as well as a mailing. I promptly responded to their email asking/telling them to stop sending me emails, calling me, sending offers in the mail and referenced this thread on AR. Their response was all in caps and told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Said they had been cleared in court and that I would be deleted from their system. I responded by saying thank you.
that should stop their bs from my end anyway.
