self preservation-nothing else
I should not say nothing else as the cost of replacing this rifle is something. There is also no smith that I could send it to-at least none that I am aware of without exporting, should some issue arise.

Using a leadsled?

I dont need one.I just put it on sand bags and use an extra one between the butt and my shoulder.
I cant tell you what it is but the rifle is just not being mean to me.
It helps too if you dont shoot many rds and leave your body heal and rest before shooting any big bore rifle.
The last time I shot 4 or 5 rds from my Lott this way I was sitting down at a restaurant feeling my ribs afterwards and I said to myself-it hurts and I wonder if anything is broken.I was scared to shoot the 500NE because of that-but I guess rest can do wonders.

On a side note,I am glad I hunted throughout my time with a double trigger double shotgun.I would hate to start hunting DG with a double rifle not having hunted with a firearm with double triggers.

Shootaway, Just hacksaw two inches off your
barrels and point your rifle like a shotgun.

I would try a pistol grip stock before I changed the sights. Your double will look more intimidating in the bush also. That could be enough to stop a potential deadly charge.

George,

I have never seen a Searcy built rifle in person.
I have pic's of rifles by Searcy that were as beaut-
iful as a guy could hope for. I have seen the
pic's of your Searcy rifle, admittedly not meant
to be a museum piece. I hope it shoots well for
you and that it does not break down on you, and
all good things for you. My motivation is NOT
that you are beneficial to our community, you are
NOT. It's just an attempt to be the sort of per-
son that I desire to be. What I want to say to
you is vile and angry in tone. Perhaps you should
apologize to CAL, and all other U.K. rifle enthusi-
asts, and try to be a contributor here, instead of
an anchor. God have mercy on you, and me, and
all people...

Hey George,

We have all been holding our breath waiting for your sight to come in.

I would like to see a short movie of you shooting the target with your Searcy. This should include your set up as you obviously know what you are doing when you shoot your double from the bench.

Just remember, a bad carpenter always blames his tools!

Cheers,

Matt

So here is Georgie Boy taking pictures of a loose screw. Am I the only one who sees the irony in this? Also, George- hey buddy- you already have the tap out and ready to customize?

You could have saved yourself a bunch of time and changed your sight picture. Too each their own.

Cheers,

Matt

I had to compensate for stupid people like you who send me sight inserts without a set screw.

I heard and interesting article on the radio yesterday and thought of George.

The piece was brief and was regarding people who are trolls on the internet. The conclusion was that these people are also jerks in real life.

My first thought was they have been visiting this forum.

George, you are aware that the Searcy threads are left hand but the sight beads are anus-double thread. You are going to have to rethread the beads or use a scrotum file to fabricate the correct taper angle to make them fit correctly.

Hey! Listen, don't take it out on me if you ordered the wrong sights. Or are you saying that Butch sent you the wrong ones?

All of us on the board really hope your rifle shoots as well as all Searcy rifles shoot.

If it shoots well, post a target and then be quiet.

If nothing else, his thread has seemed to bring out all the AK posters. I now know of some more double shooters here, so his threads (the posted ones) aren't all bad.

The ones he put in with a vice grip still suck.

Hey George,

It's obvious you are having loads of trouble with your new double. Certainly can be no fault of yours so I'm willing to offer you $3,000 for it now as is. Think hard about it. Each time you post a target picture I'll probably drop the offer another $500.

Cheers
Jim

Shootacow: Use a stainless brush (or a dow wrapped in 100 grit sand paper) to get the oil out before you shoot it. The more rifling you can scrub out of the barrel, the better...
