This is all just well and good but this whole thread begs just one question.

Just why?

Gentlemen:
Thanks to the ingenuity of Mike D. we have reached 15 pages--to include 569 replies and an astounding 24,527 views!

While many have recalled their problems with ISS and his posts, many have also come to his defense. As I have mentioned prior, I had my problems with Rich but he never threatened me in any manner. We exchanged a few heated posts and emails and all blew over and went away. Later, we exchanged some friendly posts. At least Rich called a spade a spade and didn't hide behind carefully crafted words.

I believe this thread backfired on the OP. When reviewing other posts of Ted, including my two threads on the contract question and my elk road hunt (Teddy was no doubt in disagreement with my threads), his manner and style of insulting posts was (and is) very veiled and cowardly. Even my post on double rifles Ted focused his attacks. He has done this with others, too, and no place has his cowardly personality magnified itself more than here. Asking if Rich was dead was a coy method of attempting to put the screws to ISS while maintaining his own innocence by stating in posts that this thread has gone on for three pages, no fault of his own, as he just asked a simple question.

Now, with many coming to Rich's defense with logic and an honorable stance of friendship, as well as calling out the OP for his cowardly intentions, has anyone noticed Teddy ceased posting? In keeping with his fashion, a couple of months ago Ted posted pictures of his scar and details of his heart problems. Was this a way to gather sympathy and to get folks on his side for his later planned attack on ISS? No one will know as Teddy has disappeared.

So, with Ted's abrupt absence a question must be asked that is good for perhaps another 15 pages with 569 additional replies and 24,527 more views:

IS TED DEAD? (I'm just asking an innocent question. If this thread carries on it is not of my doing).

What say you all? Did he die or is he hiding in shame?

Cheers from Alaska and smiles to you all. LOL.
Cal

I do not know Ted. I do not pretend to know what he meant in his opening post. Perhaps you are right.

I have a personal friend (not an AR friend) who recently disappeared. It was a little strange, well a lot strange without going into the whole story. I sent messages to our common friends asking if she was dead. I thought nothing of the original post as I had used the exact same words when inquiring about someone who had been a personal friend for 25 years.

You may be right Cal.

Others may be right that there is more to this story.

I think this thread has served a very good purpose, and given those who might not have had an idea how the Internet works, and how to behave on an Internet forum, an idea of what will happen.

We have an individual - in this case ISS - I really could not careless what job he did outside, because it makes no difference. Being in the military can produce exceptional men and can produce utter idiots, and everything in between.

And being in any other walk of life can do exactly the same, so we cannot blame anything an individual does - good or bad - on his job.

People do things for reasons only they can understand.

He did not like other members, and his dislike went as far as threatening them and their families with graphic details of mayhem he will do to them.

These members, mind full of their own well being and the well being of their families, did not like his attitude at all.

And did whatever they thought was best to put an end to it.

We warned him, repeatedly, that this was not acceptable on the forums.

He decided our warnings are worthless, as he kept at it again and again.

He got banned.

Cal,

Let me ask you a question.

Why did you get upset when another forum deleted your complaints about a bad business you had a dealings with?

Why were you so full of praise for AR because we let you post that complaint?

Individuals will do whatever they think is appropriate to solve a problem they are facing.

That includes informing us that they have been threatened, or you posting a negative report on a business that has done them wrong.

Ted has no way of knowing if ISS was actually banned on a permanent basis, and he has no way of knowing if ISS is still visiting the forums - even if not posting, like we can.

So he asked a relevant question, and he got it answered.

How often on here do "Discussions" turn into 'shit flinging fests", simply because someone "Read INTO" a comment, instead of just reading the comment.

Misinterpretation of a comment someone makes occurs all too often. It is amazing how many long time hunters, people that have spent many years in the outdoors and should have fairly tough hides, seem to grow tissue paper assholes when reading comments on this site.

The thing I cannot help but wonder is, was it that the original question was asked?

Or is it more of a case of WHO asked the question?

Hmmmm, that is a very good and honest, simple question, you know, straight to the point, because he has seemed to disappear, people just curious and wanting to know.

Now, on to 15 more pages, giddyup cowboys ;-)

I really do not know about some of you people on this site, but I have walked up to people I haven't seen or talked to in months or years in some cases and outright told them I thought they had died, or asked them why they hadn't!!

Everyone laughed about it, no one got their knickers in a twist! Jesus Christ On A Crutch folks it is just the internet, step outside and get some air!!!!

yep years ago he did do these terrible things....and then it stopped, why maybe your warnings worked!!

But why make it sound as though it was still continuing..'

makes it sound a lot better than getting "suspendered" for a shitty post in of all places the political forum...

PTSD can be used as a con game, and is, sadly, one of the reasons the VA healthcare system gets bogged down, by con men.

This is not open to argument or discussion, it is a fact.

I have seen it many times, beginning with an internship rotation at a VA Medical Center in 1982.

One famous conman would bring a shotgun to the hospital grounds and hide in the bushes and threaten to shoot anyone strolling by the hedgerow.
Then he would check in for another round of inpatient treatment for PTSD, again.

An attending there, a neurologist, a nationally known author of textbooks, once called him a con man and had to apologize to the patient.
I witnessed this shameful event, and felt sorry for the attending neurologist, not the con man.

I have never doubted that the threats happened.

I fully agree it WAS a problem and ISS was wrong for his part in it.

I only question is why it is made to appear it was still an ongoing problem.

On the way to 16!

Well, it certainly was an ongoing problem.
I got challenged to a duel ten years or more ago for some dislike of mine implied for the shoulder on one of Rich's wildcat creations.
My choice of weapons though.
Professional Wildcatter Courtesy?
Very gentlemanly of Rich, eh?
Yes, just out of the blue like WTF?

Maybe he was getting better. He was down to boxing matches by the time he "threatened" Active Duty O-6 jorge,
or whatever high ranking Navy Flyer he was at the time.
I only made it to O-3 AD, USAF, but I later spent a year as a civilian writing Medical Evaluation Board Summaries for the U.S. Army.
Rich /ISS is a con man.

Last week a friend came over with two rifles.

One was a Ruger 77 and was a Blaser 93.

We had a visitor here who had never seen either before.

WE asked him to shoot both, and tell us what he thought.

He shot the Ruger without any hassle.

Then started a struggle trying to load the Blaser.

He could not open the bolt!

Because, in their infinite stupidity, whoever designed that piece of junk made sure you have to push the safety lever forward before you can open the bolt! clap

When it comes to this thread I'd like to stick to posting irrelevant pictures and making nonsensical comments that have nothing to do with this ever so important subject. However....

ISS blew up on me over some irrational BS once a long time ago. I simply put the little sociopath on ignore and moved on with my life. He and Shitzaway are the only two morons out of multiple other possible morons that I've ever put on ignore on this site.

Ignore can be very useful at times.

With that in mind we must continue to build the pillars of our new Republic of Dumbassestan! Carry on gentlemen.

I remember Zombiekiller. He was one of the few I put on ignore. I never put Shootaway on ignore as his posts are enjoyable. I did put ISS on for a short while and now it is Enmond and Shrodinger's Cat on the political forum. Larry Root was a pain when he was here. Also Bushwack from SA. I didn't put him on ignore but he screwed himself with his heartless love of money. The rest of you gents, you make my life more complete with each passing day.
Cheers,
Cal

It is the internet, a faceless, emotionless medium that has a large amount of anonymity that does not exist in actual face to face interactions.

From my experiences on here and other sites, I have only met a few people that were as offensive in person as they came across on line.

I can't believe this topic has made it this far. I don't think a bottle of whisky/whiskey, (yes, I spelled it both ways) would be this popular. I'm never surprised on AR.

Well there was that thread where Jeff was showing you the love when Zombiekiller mistook you for an Orthodontist. Wink

I've been called a lot of things but being called an orthodontist is over the top! Orthodontist are nasty, filthy creatures even their mothers won't touch them with out proper protective gear on.

Sorry, I am a Periodontist. I have to actually work for a living....

Orthodontists sit in their office and drink coffee and their staff does their work for them.
