Congratulations!!!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Jeff, earlier this year while stalking bushbuck in dense terrain I looked over my shoulder - straight into the muzzle of my own .30-06 that my client was carrying. A few minutes later I looked back again and saw the same picture...

It dawned on me how easily accidents can happen. My client wasn't careless... He was just so preoccupied with stalking and making his way through the bush he didn't realize that he was sweeping me...

Since reading about the incident involving Stu, I am much more aware of what is going on behind me than what I were before and I can't help wondering what was going on behind my back before...

With this in the back of my mind I recently updated my life assurance because I want to make sure that those who are left behind when I'm gone will be taken care of. I almost fell on my back when I got the quote for death and disability insurance! Those companies who are willing to insure me as Professional Hunter hunting DG quoted me insane amounts of money! I am fortunate enough to afford it but I understand completely why there are PH's out there who do not have insurance.

Irrespective of how big a role my contribution has played I feel blessed and happy to have been able to contribute in my own small way.

Best,

Regards,

Chris Troskie

I just wanted to point out what a lot of us are thinking. This is a HUGE and generous donation.

This incident has made me more aware of my muzzle as a follower. Chasing Richie Tabor around the valley I counted the sweeps. Not many But....

The real problem is that in thick stuff, one can go from perfectly safe to sweeping in less than a second. All it takes is for you to turn one way while the person in front of you turns the other way at the same time.

Let's not forget this generous bid by Steve should create some more print purchases as it was supposed to be applied in some way to some future print purchases. tu2

I just got back to this thread and am happy to see that Jytte is the Chris Troskie Safari Draw Winner! I am also happy to see that the bid by Steve/Nganga has won the rifle raffle! A special thanks is definitely in order for the gracious public donations and also for those who sponsored these incentives to help benefit Stu and his family.

This has been a fabulously successful and honorable endeavor to date, one that I am humbled to be a part of along with all of the participating AR members. While it seems like we have reached a slight plateau I hope we will see increased donations to help move this effort forward.

I will continue to market this cause and encourage donations from those that I have friendships with and professional relationships with around the world. I am currently working diligently to present this information to our European hunting friends.

On a personal level, I will also be breaking out the credit card again soon to make another contribution for Stu. I have decided that I will be making my donations to present as holiday gifts to others along with a note describing how their gift contributed to helping someone in need. The perfect holiday gift for friends and for Stu and his family in my opinion!

CF has been clearing funds for the past week and they just wired funds two days ago...should be clearing my bank anytime...so hopefully I can begin the first print run order on Monday.

Shortly thereafter, I will be notifying them for the second print run funds as they are clearing that right now as well....as I want to get that second print run order out immediately as well as many want them by Christmas.

I have instructed them to send out the proceeds from the first print run the same time they sent me for the prints...and same thing for the second print run.

Also, I am going to be working closely together with AR member Shawn "Express Yourself"...

As mentioned he is working very hard via his European contacts/friends that we establish this Stu Taylor Lion Print Donation in their arena.

I will be creating a Stu Taylor Lion Print Benefit PAGE on my website for this purpose shortly...in order to further reach our international hunting community...it will be filled with updates as well so please visit!

I will also report here on AR periodically as many of our donors I'm sure are very interested!

I have two Hunting Outfitters that are donating a total of three hunts that will be directed towards this cause to raise additional funds say the next 35 prints in the Europe Market.

Still much details to be worked out tu2

Ronald,

It would be interesting for us if details are given of where the money have been spent.

I was under the impression that each print costs $750, which makes 53 sold to be $39,750.

Plus the other money from auctions of part of the hunt etc.

I would assume all profit goes to Stu. The prints probably cost about $200 to print, frame and ship, so $550/print x 53 would be just over $29,000.

Saeed here is the breakdown...

$750 Stu Taylor Lion Print Benefit
$200 Print/Delivery Expenses to fill the orders

PROCEEDS $550 x 53 prints to date > $29,150

Actually more because one print was sold 2x as a donation and another $375 partnered donation print resold...

so...that would be actually $30,275 to date proceeds raised direct to Stu and family.

Just wondered about the costs, as not living in the US have no idea what printing of this sort might cost.

Another thing Saeed...this is not a cheap discount $19.95 type of print special that one can easily find on-line.

This print is top-notch I assure you and everyone else!

A very HIGH-QUALITY PRINT INDEED!!! tu2

Another thing...when Andrew approached me on this idea, I was emailed a picture... I had to create a useable image from an otherwise POOR photograph as that's all we had to work with.

All my time and work I put into making that photograph a QUALITY image was FREE of charge.

All the PROOFING I needed to do with my printer in order to create a spectacular print was also at my personal expense.

I wanted to make this as simple as possible for our donors at a fair price...so I covered FREE shipping to anywhere in the world.

I looked over my print costs/gallery-wrapped frame costs/shipping costs and a nominal cost for my time in managing the full dynamics of a benefit like this...and needing to mail out Certificates of Authenticity...and a multitude of emails/pms to and fro...accounting that every minute detail is taken cared of and managing everything in a very smoothe fashion for all our donors and Conservation Force and having to fulfill orders has been no small task believe me.

In all of this...I gave Andrew an all-inclusive price per print order...$200

He agreed and the rest is history!

We've ALL done our part to make this a very special success for Stu and his family!

I am VERY proud of my efforts and those who have participated in this benefit...everyone's sacrificial giving in support as you mentioned...many of us who do not even know or met....but nevertheless, another hunter who is in desperate need of support.

AR has done MAGNIFICENTLY!!!

I only disclose these things that you may genuinely know as well as others...the FULL SCOPE of this entire benefit for Stu!

I consider it a great privilege to have served Stu and all of you as such.

Would I do it EXACTLY how I priced it and managed it to date???

DO I have any regrets?

Answer: I would run it EXACTLY as I have...I did the best I could with all my projections...It cannot be run any better!

Especially I had Jeff "Bwana Bunduki" in my corner helping me many atimes to keep this all going...So if/when ever called upon to run a benefit again...Jeff doesn't know it yet but he has to come along Big Grin

Bless you all this has been a wonderful event!!!
I'm very PROUD of it!!!

Today funds should be clearing my bank soon as it is day three for this first print run!

And I will call Chrissie at Conservation Force to release the funds for the second print run and disbursement to Stu mid next week.

Again it has been truly an honor that I as a member of this AR Family along with my business www.TrophyShotPrints.com could serve in this capacity!

Bless you all,

Roland

Andrew, yours on the other hand will be impounded at import and you will see it about the same timeline as it took your 500 NE to arrive I'm afraid. Haven't lost that gun yet have you? Wink

Should have made you repeat.

I'm in if you're buying. Big Grin

Secondly, I will like to give a HUGE shout out to Conservation Force...to John Jackson III and his wife Chrissie and to their hard working staff!

Whether by phone or emails they have been generous with their support for this Stu Taylor Lion Benefit!!!

In fact...ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!

PLEASE...Thank them here as they are following this thread closely from its inception!!!

I have nothing but GOOD to say and they have worked SACRIFICALLY as well in processing these checks and CC donations....BAM-BAM-BAM they have often times come through their system!!!

They have done a stellar job and have never asked for a dime...but to only let the benefit pay for any wiring charges to Stu and whatever follows suit to make this all work!!!

I commend them!!!

And bless our AR member Ty who donated his Print#20 to John and Chrissie as a gift for their support behind the scenes...which none of this could be remotely possible if it were not for them by and large clap

John and Chrissie you have been fabulous to work with and all my friends in your office...Bless you all clap

Amen, these folks do the Lord's work in helping protect hunters and big game populations all over the world! Don't forget to send them a donation from time to time and you can earmark which project you want the funds to go to from argalis to lions!

- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.
