Amen, these folks do the Lord's work in helping protect hunters and big game populations all over the world! Don't forget to send them a donation from time to time and you can earmark which project you want the funds to go to from argalis to lions!

VERY well said Russ tu2

I have offered my services to Chrissie should any thought of fundraising efforts for featured wildlife prints be needed for their CAMPAIGNS!!!

A GREAT BUNCH to team up with indeed clap

A definite thanks are in order for John Jackson III, his wife Chrissie, and their staff for all that they do and in structuring the pathway for us to donate to Stu and his family!

Roland...I would also like to thank you personally for all of your hard work with this effort. You have been managing the logistics of this project from the moment of inception when you were first given a copy of a low res print from Andrew. You have moved the idea of a donation effort into reality.

I know how hard you are working and how your day is filled with managing confirmation of donations, shipping information, emails going back and forth, payment received confirmations, telephone calls, print run/certificate of authenticity coordination, and AR thread updates, just to name a few aspects.

Thanks for all that you are doing!

Just a quick update regarding Mark’s commitment to send out a signed copy of his first book, Death and Double Rifles, and his DVD, Use Enough Death, to those who donate through December 2013.

Mark just returned from Tanzania for the holiday and has been working to prepare everything to ship. Some of the items have already gone out and the remainder should be completed tomorrow. As donations continue, Mark will work to assure that everything is processed promptly.

Mark is very proud to be able to help in the effort to raise donations to assist Stu Taylor and his family. Thanks again for all who have donated!

Ladies & gentlemen, the activity on this appears to have died down. I decided to go ahead and do the drawing as I am getting ready to leave town (yet again).

The winner is Pagosawingnut. I will tell you that the number drawn was one of the chances he purchased from others.

Let me also add that the original number drawn was for Mark Sullivan. I picked again. I found that hysterical.

Congrats Pagosa. I will PM you. Thanks for your generosity helping Stu.

Thanks to all who donated their chances for the hunt to me, (the high bidder). This is going to be fun.

Todd, Seriously? I thought you had gotten over that "obsession" with Blasers. Roll Eyes
That probably is precisely what I will take. So far, that "Blaser thingy" has killed everything I have shot at. (is "thingy" a Navy word?) Must be, it rhymes with "dingy" and you guys use that a lot don't you? jumping

Should have left Mark as the winner. Then he could have gone pig hunting with himself, filmed it, while arguing with himself on how the pig should die. ---- Cue the music from Monty Python's Flying Circus "And now for something completely different". Big Grin

The proceeds from the sale of the video could have gone to Stu.

I'm glad Pag's won and did it with the purchased extra chances. tu2

Frosty,

Larry and I talked about filming it. Sort of a Sullivan unplugged. We did not think itcwould raise any money for Stu and I don't think Larry mentioned it to MS. MS and Larry have given enough. Now for others.... Number 54....

Me, get over the ugliness of a Blaser "thingy"? Never! barf stir

But I do think maybe Jines's Ruger Scout gun has finally surpassed them in terms of ugliness! Whistling

Congrats on winning the hunt. Sounds like a ton of fun and very good on you for the extra donation to Stu! A class act for sure! And on that one, I'm not joking around! salute

Just Received a package from Mark Sullivan. Outstanding and thank you. Nice to see people stand up and lend a hand.

I have been thinking about why folks like to attack Mark Sullivan. He is one of our own. Some people choose to measure themselves in different manners. Some choose to step into a mixed martial arts ring. Some choose to strap a billion dollar fighter jet to their ass and vault off an aircraft carrier in the dark.

Some choose to approach dangerous game to halitosis range allowing the animal the first move.

Some choose the safety of a scoped rifle sniper shot.

I guess it all depends on the level of risk you are willing to accept and how much you believe in your reflexes.

Why should Mark be treated here as Michelle Bachman is treated on Facebook?

Just some thoughts.

Jeff

PS: Don't come to this thread to bash Mark. He has stood up and made a difference for Stu Taylor. Most of his detractors have grown T-Tex arms and slinked away.

Great point and well articulated.

I've asked myself the same question. Knowing Mark Sullivan it makes me wonder even more.

I believe it all comes from the forum leadership. People on internet forums tend to be followers. They will follow the lead given them. Saeed, dislikes Mark and his techniques. That's what sets the tone.

If Saeed liked Mark and his techniques, Mark would be wildly popular on AR. As is Buzz, Ivan and others.

Just my thought on the matter.

I would also like to thank Mark Sullivan for generously providing me with free copies of his book and DVD.

I don't know what these would normally sell for at retail.

But I would like to offer both the book and the DVD, free of charge and with shipping paid by me, to anyone who will use the Conservation Force website to donate at least $25 to the Stu Taylor fund.

I should note that the book is inscribed to me, in case that might influence anyone's decision.

Mark wanted his involvement in helping to remain focused on assisting Stu Taylor and his family and not about what Mark contributed to the effort. That being said, I will personally pass on your thanks to Mark from each who has thanked him on this thread. I will also pass-on any additional comments of thanks that might be posted later as well. Thanks again for all who have donated to Stu!

Seconded! tu2

And, of course, first order kudos to Andrew and Roland for the entire enterprise.

But the best thing about this is that nothing selfish has been involved.

I have a taker already on my offer above. And he has agreed to pass the offer along, after reading the book, and viewing the DVD, on the very same terms.

Bravo, and all the best to Stu, for his recovery, and for his family, as well.

We, who do this thing of ours, can and must step up!
