My only question is... when does the production on the stainless actions start!!!

Stick,
The SS will probably be a few more months, We should have all the CM gibbs actions out by the end of next week and then we are starting on the CM Rigby's and after they are done the CM Standard Magnums. After that we will begin the SS Gibbs, then the SS Rigby's and finally the SS Standard Magnums. They are definatley taking longer to put together than our short and long actions, but as we modify certain parts and machining techniques we will get the assembly times faster with parts that fit without having to hand fit each one. I know it is hard to consider this a "new" project because it has taken a while to get to market, but it really is.

So, what's the latest on the firing pin issue?

Sorry. Sorry. I just can't help jerking you gents' collective chain. I'm really glad you men are geting what you paid for, and that you like what you are getting. So long as there are such things as Dakota 76 and Mauser 98 actions around, I'm not gonna' worry.

Good hunting.

Received mine with a 505 bolt face yesterday. Looks pretty good but will need some action smoothing.

Mauser 93,

I will let you be the one to build and test fire a 505 Gibbs built on a Mauser 98 action.

For $650 and shipping I do not think this action can be beat. Wayne at AHR agrees with me.

I agree but the days of $650 are over; $1100 now, $1200 for stainless. Sill a lot of action for the money considering the competition is $3500 or greater.

I have seen only one granit mountian action (about 5 years ago). Its a $3500 action that requires the same amount of tuneing and set up
as the ph. In some ways it may be better than the ph , but for the differance in the money I don't see it.

I've had two GMA action guns, one done by Mike Roden himself-that gun was all GMA. I just sold that rifle chambered in 505 Gibbs and nearly cried.

While I will say the GMA is the better action of the two the MRC is a very close second for sure and mine is Stainless. FYI.

The display of PURE POWER is nothing short of AWESOME !

I put it in the big heavy t-hole stock as it is
my 700, and it shoots easy with that setup.

Doc of MPI said he should have a stock to me next week or so , then a fast bedding and fairing job will have it ready to make a mold of it. You will need to bed them and paint them and install a recoil pad. Not hard to do if you want to learn how.

now if that was a gray laminate stock, it would look exactly like the "All-weather SS/Laminate 600 OverKill" I'll bring to Alaska after you build it for me! beer

I have a Bastogne walnut stock with good figure and coloration just awaiting a master plan on what I want my 505 Gibbs to look like. The picture above is certainly helping that cause.

Charles,

We didn't make any changes to the bolt release. We did a couple of other minor changes and cut in scope ring dovetails.

Wayne, if I supplied a CM PH action(505 boltface) and the stick of wood, of which I have both, what is the cost of such work as this with a nice matte blue finish in 505 Gibbs? How much did the cut-in scope rings add to the cost? In a 505, may not need a scope at all, but it is an option.
