Thank you everyone!
Driving back from the shoot now. Everyone who came made it special and even some who did not. Was so rewarding meetinging you all and being hosted so graciously by Russ and his lovely wife. Your hosting made this so personal and a great party. Special thanks to those who drove hundreds of miles to attend. Thanks to Detorre for droping off his game meat to add to the feast. The Elk burgers were a hit. Stellar kudos and grattitude to Michael458 for his supply of his guns and ammo for all to play with and enjoy. We all had so much fun shooting your creations. A certain member brought a few prize guns that people would give a kidney to own and let us ogle and shoot to contentment... Thank you!
A great time had by all !!!

Many thanks to Russ for hosting the shoot and Randi for allowing it to happen; you have a beautiful home and the view from the backyard is almost as great as the view from the shoot site. Thanks to Boomy for coordinating the H&S…I had a wonderful time, great shooting, great fellowship, great food, and…did I mention the view! Thanks to all who provided or brought their rifles and shared, I’ll reciprocate at next spring H&S as my 50 should be ready December ‘10/January ’11 timeframe.

Dang, now I really know why those jackets are loose in the shoulders and tight in the waist! I definitely have to move some of that middle back to the shoulders and chest and lose the rest! I’m not letting the wife see those photos or she’ll be on me like a flea on a dog to exercise and lose weight. Oh well…

Oh yes...Mike thanks for the Tule Elk it was delicious!

You are more than welcome, I hope you guys liked the rifles and enjoyed shooting them. I was curious about the weather, it's totally unbelievable here, you guys would have had a stroke if you were here. 95-100---humidity so heavy makes it hard to breath, like walking into a wall of hot air. Looks like a great place.

Jim

Which one were you shooting in the photos?

Russ,

Just got home and wanted to thank you and Randi for the wonderful hospitality. This was my first experience with the big bores and I now consider myself a newbie member of the club. Thanks to all for the coaching. The rifles there were pretty special. Next time I'll have a .470 AR to contribute and who knows what else.

Could not have asked for a more beautiful location for the shoot. Dinner was great and it was wonderful to make the "in-person" acquaintance of those who were "handles" before.

Regards,

Steve

I can't believe I missed this shoot. The party looked like fun, and lots of fun stuff to try out.
Maybe next time we could do it where it isn't back to back with the Quigley Rifle Match a thousand miles east of my house. I hate consecutive weekends, the pocketbook can't absorb the hits.

I don't know how I ever found time to work, there just are too many great shooting events to fit them all in.

I vote we appoint Jeffe and Boomie as a committee of two to coordinate the 2011 Shoot Calendar.

Man, y'all sure looked like you had fun.

Wow, looks like an amazing time!

I signalled boom stick that I moved to Palo Alto recently, but I was already in Reno, NV attending the B&C 27th Big Game Awards event.

I would love to attend the next event and bring a few left-handed rifles along!

Cheers and congratulations!

Guys I want to say thanks very very much, although I could only stay that short while I was very glad I got to meet some of you, appreciative of being able to shoot some fine weapons, awed at some of what I saw, and only wish that this will happen again when I can plan better for it.

My wife and I had planned back in Feb/early march to do a camping trip at the coast this weekend. of course planning that early causes problems when things like this come up. but some negotiating got me a short pass and I took my friend with me and drove over from san simeon. Russ has a really beautiful place, carved right out of the mountain, surrounded by wineries and farms, and with a fantastic view from his shooting range.

Mike thanks for letting us shoot all those creations! wow, some cool stuff, that 50b&m ss has got to be one of the handiest things going. what a blast it is to shoot! the kick was not bad, and definitely worth the price of having such a handy light little rifle! You've obviously put in the due diligence on the line of cartridges, I can see that one in particular becoming quite popular with the pig and Alaskan guide crowd.

Capo were you involved in the development of those cats? you knew all the specs and numbers off the top of your head, I was impressed. Boom would make a fantastic salesman, he seemed to know everything about the rifles and had an infectious energy. I wish I had that much energy, I'd get so much more done.

I'll post more later, especially my romantic feelings towards the royal paradox gun, but right now have to run, sorry posting so late but 2 days off of work during the busy time was probably not the best idea. Smiler

Hey Red,

Was nice to meet you and your friend; she did well shooting the 50 B&M Long! And it looked like the 50 Super Short/M70 WSSM cartridge/rifle combo was made for you.

I had nothing to do with the Michael’s development of the B&M or 500 MDM line of cartridges or his short handy modifications to the M70 WSM and WSSM auctioned rifles…no fly’s on any of them…I just have developed much interest in them over the past year. I did however design the 50 MDM in consultation with Michael so if it doesn’t make the cut that one’s on me.

Yep, Boomy was quite the salesman; he’d done his homework regarding each cartridge loading’s comparable to a traditional early 20th century African cartridge loading.
