Back a few weeks for a 10 day hunt in B.C., it turned out to my best hunt ever. I hunted with Aaron Fredlund, Fredlund Guide Service out of Tumbler Ridge, B.C. Canada. and assistant guide Yogi (Joakim Rausch). On the second day, we shot a nice Mt.Goat. A nice trophy considering the climb up, and a climb it was! On the fourth day we decided to hunt Moose early morning. The Grizzly tag in my back pocket was getting hot and really needed punched. We were working a ridge around some Willow Flats, Aaron called a few times with a cow call. Nothing, we moved on about a hundred yards or so. Aaron pushed me down by my shoulder and whispered "Grizz coming down that trail, looks big." We quickly moved into shooting position, the first shot hit the mark. I put two more in him just to be sure. This was my first attempt at hunting Grizzly, but it won't be my last! With the Goat and Grizzly tags filled and six days remaining in the hunt, we moved on to Moose. Day five we called in a nice 50 or so inch Moose, I had hunted with Aaron before and had shot one about that size. So, we passed on him and moved on. We did get 25 minutes of nice video out of the deal. Classic Bull in rut coming into a call, looking for a fight. Hunting Moose in rut is something every hunter should do. Day six was warm and not much was moving, we hunted hard anyway. Day seven, Aaron wanted to hunt a place I called "Hells Canyon" He just knew Moose were in there, so away we went. First bull grunt was answered, he was coming in hard and fast. This bull wanted a piece of somebody, he didn't care who. He stepped clear of the willows at about thirty yards. He scored 210 B&C green and his spread was right at 60 inches. We were truly blessed on this ten day hunt. As a bonus Yogi filmed all three hunts.

What a fantastic hunt. Just one of those animals would make for a great hunt. But 3...? Out of control. Well done! "You only gotta do one thing well to make it in this world" - J Joplin

K80 did you book that hunt with all those animals in mind, or did it all just fall together? Would you mind letting us know who the outfitter was?

Big +1. Holy sheet mon what an adventure. You sure this wasn't a high fence operation? ______________________ Hunting: I'd kill to participate.

There are NO ...high fence operation... hunting preserves in British Columbia, such activities are illegal and not wanted here by we citizens. What you are seeing here, is the result of a well managed BC hunt and multiple species hunts with a high success ratio are typical of our hunting. If, you hunt with a good outfit and the guides know their stuff AND you are IN SHAPE plus can SHOOT, it is no biggie to take three trophies on such a hunt....but, you WILL sweat for them and probably ache for weeks afterward.

Dewey!!! Are you serious, man? You can't have thought he wasn't being sarcastic......I mean, we all know you are humorless, but c'mon. Even the wink icon didn't give it away?? I still love you though.

Well managed BC conservation program for sure...well financed by hunters since these programs cost real money.

The bulk of the financing for the BC wildlife programmes does not come from hunters, but, from general tax-fees revenue. This, has been a "sore point" with resident hunters here for decades as the BC Fish and Wildlife Branch is severely underfunded and they perform miracles with what scanty funds they do receive. Much of BC is still raw wilderness and access is not available to people except by horses, jetboats a little and aircraft. This is the major reason why we have the game we do and will, hopefully, continue to have in the future. A LOT of this is due to the efforts of the "eco-warriors" in preserving huge wild areas from any motorized access and/or development. I hope to see hunters and eco-folks evolve a harmonious accord that will benefit all of us....because, there is nowhere like BC and we must look after it.

Dewey The above is correct, I was in shape and did sweat (running down my legs on more than one occasion). The Guide has to know his area, to do it is not easy on a ten day hunt. The hunter has to be in shape, able to keep up in rough country. It was the most fun and rewarding hunt I've ever been on. You are correct, there is nowhere like BC. I've hunted many other places, Africa etc., but BC is my favorite. Terry

Great hunt report and some awesome trophies to boot. Aaron is a friend of mine and he runs a top notch outfit for several years now. I have got to think that his area is one of the better ones in that part of the country....truly awesome trophy quality!

Wow... a dream hunt! Thanks for the report! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
