AK Moose HUnt - 4 nice bulls

I am not going to do a long winded report here, would rather let the photos do the talking. In short, I led a hunt to the AK Range with Xtreme Xpeditions and 3 Magnum HUnt CLub members from Sept 11-21. On day one all clients killed bulls. There were monster 66 and 76 inch bulls taken. Crazy big. On day 6 (only 3rd decent weather day) I took a nice bull. We got 2 great TV shows and everyone was really pleased with the whole operation. I would give it 5 stars. We are doing hunts with them in 2013 and 2014 if anyone wants to join us.

My bull was spotted from 1.5 miles above camp, and he was 2.5 miles on the other side of camp in a straight line. We covered the 5 actual foot miles in 2 hours and found him quickly. I hammered him with the .338 shooting 250 gr accubonds.

Of 10 days in camp, it rained or snowed 6.5 days. We were stuck in camp 3 days before we could get out, but we had enough good weather to get it all done.

Jim Bevin's Bull

Pete Lombardi's Bull

Dean Slaney's 76-incher!!!

Off to Spike Camp

My Bull is in farthest opening in photo

And Winter hits

9 days without a shower

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Catching up on some threads since I have gotten back... excellent bulls Tim and the gang! Well done.

Nice bulls, great pics. Alaska is always interesting. The rifle in 3 pics looks like a T/C "Dimensions" firearm. What caliber did you use? Just curious, anyway looks like a super hunt.

flickt - yes it is a Dimension. I shot a .338, but I think the .300 would have been just fine with premium ammo...
