Any memebers have a chance to handle one of these? If so, what are your comments regarding the rifles. PM is you would like. I am considering ordering one in 9.3 x 74.

Perry,

PM Biebs and Elk80881.

I'm sure they'll be happy to tell you what they think of Bailey's work.

Perry, A falling block double rifle has been my "Holy Grail" ever since Martin Hagn did one for Hartmann & Weiss 4 or 5 years ago. When Bailey started designing and building them, I jumped at the chance. I now have 2 in process; a 500NE and a 9.3x74R matched pair. My friend bought the 6.5x57 that Bailey had at the DSC. Elegant rifles.

I handled Baily's falling block double at the dsc show and interviewed him for High Caliber Radio. It's the slickest double rifle I have ever handled. I was amazed at the balance.
I like the hell out of it. Just been trying to figure out what to sell so I can order one.

Can it be broken down to fit in a case that
we would use for a typical hinge pin double?

You guys should just ask Baily. Wink

Looking on his site I wouldn't think it can be broken down.
http://www.bradshawgunandrifle..._Double_Rifle_1B.php Assuming this is the gun you are asking about.

As usual just my $.02

I was talking to him several weeks ago about a project he is building for me and he told me he was working on a take down idea for the falling block double rifle and I told him if he got it to work I was going to buy one because he stated there could be barrel sets. Just think 450-400/ 7.5x65r and maybe a shotgun barrel set all on one frame.

Yes
At the Dallas show the rifle was not a breakdown
I asked Bailey after I ordered mine if he would work on a breakdown system. So while he was in the hospital he designed one on CAD. It is going to be an option.
Mine will be the very first one but not sure if Biebs ordered his that way.
He has my barrels almost complete and has my piece of Driftwood for the stock. I also have given him the engraving design on one side the other side to follow soon.
For all you shotgun nuts he is also working on a drop lock 28 gauge bird gun Just think getting a full sub gauge set of drop locks 20,28,410 all matching all the same weight and balance
Everyone stay away Biebs and I will keep Bailey busy for atleast 5 years.

As Larry indicated, I did design a breakdown system for my falling block doubles. It's an added option, but is a simple system. Basicly a verticle block similar to the breechblock that locks the barrels in place. Taking the rifle apart will be similar to a break action. Remove the forend, lower the locking block via it's lever, and slide the barrels forward.

Boy
I'am glad I ordered my gun before he gets all that National Press.
Bailey is already overwhelmed with the response to his guns. Most of us told Bailey "Build it they will come" and boy they are.

If you were on the fence about getting one on order, I would say spring before the price goes thru the roof and you want to use it in your life time
Bailey Great Job

I still don't understand how he can build these at the posted prices. Given the craftsmanship, time, and customization, the low price boggles the mind.

I plan on "borrowing" Biebs' for a while. When I tried to get on the Bailey Bradshaw line, it was already down the block and around the corner.
Well worth the wait, though ...

Awwww come on, a 14 month wait is on the low side of average for a made to order rifle. Prices haven't gone up yet either. Even when they do, it will be still be a sensable price for a DR.

Orders should move faster once I hire an assistant.
