Here is picture of a Mauser 98 I put my 585HE long case in.
Now it isn't long enough for making a mag box to feed,
but still is a nice "little gun". Behind it is 585HE long
case in an Enfield. These two are my only "lighter" barreled
585HEs.Got the barrels that way. Not a huge fan of
skinny barrels.

With heavy barrels -I done two in FBWs- one on Ruger77-
two more in Enfield- one in NEF- one in BBK- one in PH.

Going to do with heavy barrels in future-
heavy barrel meaning 1" plus muzzle-
Ruger #1- Savage 112- The Khan autoloader I pictured earlier.
CBC like I did 20ga in.They look great, want to do a
bunch of them. I like single shots.Ed

Some talk of 577-585s, here again
is ours showing it works in anything
a Gibbs works in.With a Gibbs for length.
From the way big game African hunters bragg
up the 577... I think 585 is best all around,
especially out 585HE with modern slugs
and some horsepower.Ed

Here is pic of my 87 lever gun with the
585 Rimmed HM in. Just one of a kind , can
get good speed at low pressures that I don't
have to resize, but just twist 585 die on the
mouth by hand. 640 gr hard cast at 2400.ED

Here are pictures of some guns I have my 585HE in.
1st is CBC single shot and NEF, 2nd is BBK in a target stock,
3rd Khan action, 4th FBW falling block.
And I got it in 5 other makes also, and will soon
have it in a Savage 112, and in one barrel of
a Tristar over/under 12ga. Use a barrel liner in
that one.Last pic is all my big 585s.Ed

I fired 585HE with 650 gr at 2400,
and 750 at 2200, about same moderate pressure,
in the Khan and extracted ok with
a pull of the bolt handle.Makes a
straight pull 585. These same loads
used in the 585HE in my NEFs/CBC, that fired
cases fall out. Going to put 585 in Savage
110-112, in one barrel of O/U, in Ruger #1.
and later on in a Mark 5.

Case doesn't need special order shell
holder. I use a regular number 31.
Fired heavy test load in 585HE PH,
last year, 750gr at 2800 and still
extracted ok. PH is weighted and with thumbhole
stock, 30" barrel, it shoots comfortable.
Pic is before I got stock.Ed
