(and doing his own lapua based cart) but wants us to purchase the barrels after he pays for custom tooling rich is providing the discounted price santa barbara action with raised funds.and will be the "money man" jeffeosso is doing dummy rounds/bullets and drawing. based on the 375 ruger case. vapo is willing to do the dies and guages ect and put it together. who can do load development and test fire? (should we dare get 375 ruger ammo and switch out bullets with same load or - a few grains? can we neck up by stuffing with boat tail bullets? thanks... 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. Boom stick, You guys do the .395 Ruger, I'll do the .398 Lapua Magnum, and we will compare notes as we go. A McGowen barrel will be $180.00 for chrome-moly, and $280.00 for stainless in any of the standard contours up to 28" long. Pioneering is such fun , eh? We await word from Gerard on bullets.

hey rip... would you do a straight bullet swap on the 375 ruger/338 lapua or take out a few grains of powder??? the extra dia would make up for added bullet weight so loads will be very similar, no? 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. boom stick, I think you have it pretty well nailed there. It may even require more of the same powder, or similar loads of a faster powder to max out. A straight swap of .395/330gr bullet for the .375/300gr bullet in a necked up case, over the same starting powder charges, should be about right, then chronograph and add more of same powder, as needed, or go to a faster powder. We have time to do some figuring with AccuLoad and such before pulling the trigger, however.

cool, keeping the powder provided and possibly necking up the 375 by using boat tailed bullets is pretty neet. granted the 338 will need to be expanded using a propper expander though. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. You might want to discard 10% of the factory powder to fire form your brass then reload with a powder you can identify for sure, probably something like H4350 Extreme, and work up some data for the .395 Ruger.
