There will be 2 courses of fire, Prizes for first and second place (100 new federal 215s for first place, 100 slightly used primers for seconds!) a modest bbq lunch, and generally showing off your shooting pieces!

Flight to Texas $350
Entry fee $15
Time spent with friends shooting big bores...
Priceless!

That BBQ brisket was worth the $15 alone... AND a photo with Rusty! What a deal!

Would it step on any toes if I brought my pistols to use at the pistol range? I should be able to, as I'm a member of BRI, but if ya'll think it would be improper, I can leave them at home.

I would like to come with my 45-110 Sharps. I know it's not exactly politically correct, but in two trips to the Eastern Cape, it has taken 13 animals, and I have yet to recover a bullet.

Will there be an opportunity to check penetration?

stop it!!! you guys are killing me with all this future fun discussion. 2008 was the best total shooting experience year of my life, with the Hoot-n-Shoot and making my first trip to Africa. This year, I get to host several people from the Voice of the Martyrs group at our house and run one seminar. It makes this shoot sound even better, we do not realize the freedoms we enjoy in America. You guys enjoy, I'm spending the money I'd save to buy a CZ in 404J, and get to work on the 585HE on the MRC PH action. Next year I'll bring it with me, and we can photo some true masochists in action.

Shoot well, eat lots of barbecue, and raise a glass to me on Day One at lunch!!

I word to the wise . . . bring some Off, Repel or your favorite brand of mosquito spray to the range. I was there this morning -- for about 30 minutes -- I had to leave when I pulled a muscle wrestling with one of the brutes. They are thick, thick with all the rain we have had. If it was not for the breeze this morning I would have just turned around and come home. Lesson learned today: Now I have a can of 40% deet spray in the truck tool box.

Take Highway 288 south to County Road 57 (this is past Beltway 8 -- Bass Pro Shops -- and Highway 6). Turn right on County Road 57. Go down County Road 57 about two miles and the range is on the right. If you can get to Highway 288, the rest is a piece of cake.
