In the guard.. 39 days a year.
936 days over 24 years.

Vance 4 years, 365 days = 1460...

Vance active duty, went where assigned.

Still.more than I have served.

One LIED repeatedly about rank and about being in war....

The other did his contract and left

You forgot the 2 weeks every year for TT. That gives him another 288 days! Still not much, but there it is. We want to try and be factual. Bill

Bill
My math was wrong, but not that way.. I for uts
2 days a month, but 11 months, nor 12
22 days
Then 15 days TT..
37 days per year.

Of course the pay PER DAY is the same, and therefore the "retirement" pay would be a hair over 50% of that net annual pay

Weird how someone can "retire" with leas time served than a 4 year hitch of active service

I am and have always been a civilian voter, and I couldn't give a shit about the technicalities of Walz's military service, who was what kind of sergeant for how many years and so forth.

What counts for me isn't whether he puffed his resume a bit, but the fact that he did serve his country honorably.

What? You need affirmation that Trump is a sack of s..t?

I’m not the one trying to say “my side” is perfect with unicorn farts and kittens.

I’m sick with both of them.

The GOP and the Dems have both fallen horribly since the days of Regan and O’Neil.

By the way, it is Ernest. No “a” therein.

Mike, have you seen the actual tape, all of it? Trump said (quite inarticulatly, as usual) that The Presidential Medal of Freedom was better to be awarded than receiving the Medal of Honor. Why? Because you usually die, or are terribly wounded in the action for which the CMH is given. He wasn’t saying that the CMH was a lesser honor at all, but that (for the receiptent, anyway) the PMF does not come with death or a lifetime of disability.

There are only two people in the world who can F’up a reasonably logical conclusion and statement more than Trump and they are Joe Biden and Kamala Harris..

Been busy as usual here. Harvest season is ongoing and won't slow down until hunting season. Finished putting up almost 100 chickens in the freezer as of yesterday. Just had a knee replacement so had a few slow weeks but still going. Predators are a problem, they get reduced every day. Life on the farm!

. . . could you just be trying to rationalize the irrational? According to the VFW:

VFW Statement

“On Thursday, former President Donald Trump spoke at an event where he made some flippant remarks about the Medal of Honor and the heroes who have received it. In the video that has circulated online and in the media, the former president was recognizing Miriam Adelson in the audience who he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his time in office. As he described the medal as the civilian version of the Medal of Honor, he went on to opine that the Medal of Freedom was “much better” than the military’s top award, because those awarded the latter are, in his words, “ … either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets or they’re dead.” He continued by comparing Miriam to MoH recipients saying, “She gets it and she’s a healthy beautiful woman. They are rated equal.”

“These asinine comments not only diminish the significance of our nation’s highest award for valor, but also crassly characterizes the sacrifices of those who have risked their lives above and beyond the call of duty.”

“When a candidate to serve as our military’s commander-in-chief so brazenly dismisses the valor and reverence symbolized by the Medal of Honor and those who have earned it, I must question whether they would discharge their responsibilities to our men and women in uniform with the seriousness and discernment necessary for such a powerful position. It is even more disappointing when these comments come from a man who already served in this noble office and should frankly already know better. While the Presidential Medal of Freedom maybe our nation’s highest civilian award, the Medal of Honor is more sacred as it represents the gallantry and intrepidity of courageous and selfless service members, often at the cost of grievous wounds and even their lives.”

“It’s because of our Medal of Honor recipients that great Americans like Miriam Adelson have the freedom to live to their fullest potential and make such lasting contributions to our great nation. We would like to remind Mr. Trump that the 12 times he had the honor of awarding the Medal of Honor as president of the United States, those were heroes not of his own choosing. He bestowed those medals on behalf of Congress, representing all Americans of a grateful nation. We hold the donation of their lives in service to our country in the highest esteem, and so should he.”

Independent Veterans of America

. . . it is good to see that some veterans and veteran groups have not allowed blind fealty to cloud their ability to call out the irrational as opposed to feeling it obligatory to try to explain it away as just misspeak or typical Trump jabberwocky. There definitely is something akin to TDS but it appears to be more of an affliction of Trump's followers than his critics.

Better be careful with that one.

Tex. Penal Code § 38.123. FALSELY HOLDING ONESELF OUT AS A LAWYER.

(a) A person commits an offense if, with intent to obtain an economic benefit for himself or herself, the person holds himself or herself out as a lawyer, unless he or she is currently licensed to practice law in this state, another state, or a foreign country and is in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and the state bar or licensing authority of any and all other states and foreign countries where licensed.

(b) An offense under Subsection (a) of this section is a felony of the third degree.
