Good!

Ken Paxton for AG!

Another person found to violate the law, cost the state millions, and was criminally investigated.

I just happen to be friends with the senior partner of the firm that defended Ken.

Please enlighten me on the law he violated.

As far as him costing the state money…Texans must be happy with him as he keeps getting reelected — against some pretty good opposition in the last.

If I was Trump…he would be my man. And, I am not really a Paxton fan.

That tight the state paid out 3 million for not terminating whistleblowers illegally.

Your boy Paxton had to go back to ethics’s classes. In a civilized state he would have been disbarred.

Lane, it's clear to me that you don't understand. I changed my mind about that. I think you DO understand, thoroughly.

Paxton survived only because he's a Texan in Texas. It used to be that a crook like him would be easy to disbar, prosecute, just get rid of, but nowadays he's probably good to go in Washington. He will fit right in.

What I know is that if I was DJT and lived through the total bullshit he was put through before...Paxton is the man I would hire.

There is a lot more to the Paxton story than you know.

I realize that we are occasionally given to hyperbole about the untoward nature of politicians, but let me be clear: Matt Gaetz is a sex trafficking drug addicted piece of shit. He is abhorrent. His eyes are permanently rimmed with the red rings of chemical boosters. In person, he smells like overexposed Axe Body Spray and stale Astroglide. The fact that he boasted on the floor to multiple colleagues in the House of Representatives of his methods of crushing Viagra and high test Red Bull to maintain his erection through his orgiastic evenings is perhaps the least offensive of his many crimes against womanhood and Christian faith. The man has less principles than your average fentanyl addicted hobo. He likes them underage and he’s not ashamed about it. Matt Gaetz isn’t just your average extreme Florida MAGA Man, he’s a hypocritical ass with the worst Botox money can buy, pursuing an ever-thinner nose and higher cheekbones at every opportunity like a Real Housewife gone mad for fillers. Every Republican in Washington has an opinion about Matt Gaetz, and 99 percent of those opinions are “Keep Matt Gaetz away from my wife/daughter/friend and anyone I care about.” He is a walking genital, warts included as a bonus. If I was merely attempting to count the number of women I know who have had bad experiences with Matt Gaetz, I would run out of fingers and toes. If you vote for him to be the Attorney General of the United States, you don’t just need your head examined, you need to be committed to a mental institution. The man is absolutely vile. There are pools of vomit with more to offer the earth than this STD-riddled testament to the failure of fallen masculinity.

Let’s just deal with the facts. Did Matt Gaetz transport an underage woman across state lines with the stated intent of her having sex with him and his friends? Yes. Did he later claim to Tucker Carlson that this woman did not exist? Yes. Does this conflict with the fact that one of his closest friends was convicted of having sex with this underage woman for pay? Yes. Are Gaetz and his orgy friends attempting to destroy the records — images, videos, etc. — from this sex party to protect his political future? Yes. Does this matter to Republicans? Who can say? Donald J. Trump has the best judgment in politics, of course he would never name a sex trafficking drug addled lying philandering piece of shit to be the Attorney General of the United States simply to avoid investigation. Or would he?

Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-Fla.) resignation from Congress came two days before the House Ethics Committee was set to vote on releasing a “highly damaging” report outlining its investigation into the Republican, according to multiple sources familiar with the probe.

The committee planned to vote Friday on releasing the report. Ethics loses its jurisdiction over Gaetz when he leaves Congress.

The secretive panel has been investigating Gaetz on and off since 2021. President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would nominate Gaetz to be attorney general Wednesday.

Here’s the real deal: Matt Gaetz is the line for how we assess the Republican Party. If they are truly a cult of personality, beholden to Donald Trump in ways that we could not even imagine for a party that rejects cults and idol worship, they will approve this choice. But if they have a degree of independence, any kind of free thought, mindful of the fact that a presidency is four years but your career is forever, they will reject this choice so emphatically that it sends a very simple, straightforward message: you can be an absolute dirtbag wannabe pimp pounding dick pills and caffeine while you film your “girlfriend” twerking on the gram, or you can be a Republican. The choice is yours.

You're about to see classic Trump, and if MAGAts were smart, well, they wouldn't be MAGAts, but if any of them have three active brain cells to rub together they should pay attention.

Gaetz has been Trump's most loyal defender in the House, going to absurd lengths to justify or excuse what Trump does and says. The farther this confirmation proceeds the more will be exposed about Gaetz, and there's solid evidence of some truly sleazy shit, but Trump will just watch him be destroyed, just like anybody except Ivanka will be sacrificed for Trump's convenience. Gaetz resigned his seat to forestall the Ethics Committee report from being released but it will inevitably be given to the Senate or be leaked, and his confirmation will be DOA, just like his career.

Also, I can understand your perspective; ..."DJT and lived through the total bullshit he was put through before..."

That statement of perspective grabs the core of practically everything about Trump(ism) opposition by the balls and shakes them like a pit bulldog. What you are saying is that Trump's whole shtick of lies, and transgressions resulting in indictments, investigations, convictions, etc., primarily direct attacks on the rule of law and its feeble corresponding attempt to hold him accountable was "total bullshit". Instead of accountable, he was rewarded for it all. And furthermore, empowered to really get down on it, with lots of help, with impunity and immunity.

I can see clearly why you think Paxton is the Right man. Pun intended.

One of the things about fascism and the transition is to believe what you believe, and ignore or deny contradictions.

One thing you ignore or deny is that Trump's indictments went through grand juries who saw the evidence. We also saw some of it, and much more. Also, the investigations met a probable cause test to initiate which has been affirmed in so many ways since.

Now, you and others double-down on the spin and wash.

What you are advocating, along with MAGA, is total quashing of the rule of law and weaponization of its replacement, based on a perverted/inverted belief in a demagogue's lies. You wouldn't believe it if you didn't want to, and it is alt-reality forced into reality.

Frankly, I have been giving you way too much benefit of doubt.

I assume that you 100% believe this too:

In a statement Wednesday announcing his pick, Trump said Gaetz would root out “systemic corruption” at the Justice Department and return the department “to its true mission of fighting crime and upholding our democracy and constitution.”

Never underestimate the power of a human mind to twist itself into bizarre contortions.

The human minds of ‘true believers’ designed and operated the camps and ovens in German concentration camps at the command of their revered Adolf Hitler, stood at the edge of killing pits and fired down upon naked women and children, and ran the Killing Fields in Cambodia to please Pol Pot. The agents of Nicolas Ceausescu willingly harvested the infants of everyday citizens to raise them in his deigned fashion.

The admirers of Donald Trump are of that ilk. They “believe”, and will not change their minds, for they have surrendered their thought processes to the agenda of someone they view as ‘strong’ - and they yearn to share that strength vicariously. They will do his bidding regardless of how foul and heinous the rest of civilization views it. He literally could ‘shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue’ and they’d still vote for him. Now that he controls all levels of Government he IS the law, not unlike Xi, Kim and Putin, and he is no more ethical or moral than them.

Have you ever noticed how perfectly good, well behaved dogs will become feral and uncontrollable when in the presence of several others led by one dominant dog? Rather than staying home and sleeping on the doorstep, they’ll gang up and start killing calves or chickens at night - the very calves and chickens they protected during the day. I think there’s a human parallel in that.

My Bad.

I did underestimate and I still have to fight that tendency even with the reality of Trump's re-election.

I just couldn't believe that (so many) those who on the outside appeared reasonable harbored something so sinister inside, in motive and belief, not so apparent, and unreasonable. I figured that Trump's alt-reality shtick was so transparent that those who would vote for him and the apologists too could see through it but vote for him anyway for a list of reasons. I figured perhaps they couldn't see how harmful he really is. I also figured they could be swayed through reason.

Now, I'm working on getting over all that. It's a new mind-field. [sic]

Only people like you do not care. Funny Trump surrounds himself w accused sexual bad actors, but you condemn gay people carte blanche.

Oh wait, maybe it has something to do w the fact Trump himself is an adjudicated sexual abuser.

Such people are not men not tough guys despite your hero worship of such actors.

"Me too" was apparently some sort of backlash movement.

Kavanaugh is a walking, talking, breathing charade who played in debauchery in his youth.

Trump - tough guy, hero? He can't control his nasty impulses. Usually that results in a hard fall. It's just a matter of time. We had hope that his trajectory on the asymmetrical curve graph had peaked. It was a false hope. We don't know when or where the peak is now, but there is one and it's not a plateau. The downside is steeper than the upside, and the bottom is below the starting place.

Lots of people care anymore. It's your tribe whose gone nihilistic. It's the Trump era which has already produced hard evidence aplenty and lots more to come. We have never seen in this country the magnitude of backlash Trump(ism) will produce with the people who care anymore.

With Trump's election, I think of Trumpism thus far as prologue. The main chapters are yet to come. If Trumpism is successful beyond a short term it will defy history in similarity.

But as I recall from recent reading, China's culture and Nation System has survived for over 5,000 years.

“The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings”.

There are good reasons they want to avoid FBI background checks and Senate confirmation hearings for this putrid bunch. Gabbard's ties to Russia, Gaetz's proclivity for underage girls and drug cocktails, Hegseth's paying off a sexual assault victim, RFK Jr's entire fucking life.

Has there EVER been a Cabinet member who admitted to a 14-year heroin addiction?

It appears the fellow nominated for Sex of Defense paid off the accuser.

He is a good example why the military should not be allowed (currently no longer is) to resolve these disputes at the command level.

Hero? Tough guys? Where do you come up with your BS?

I will repeat. After the “me too” era and Kavanaugh charade…

…without hard evidence…

…nobody cares anymore. You not seeing that just confirms your tone deafness.

Oh, we have all seen the muscle bound Trump posters, looking like Rambo w an American Eagle on his Arm, and a M60. Such things have been posted here.

Did yuh not have a run going explaining to all of us how Trump is/was a “man.”

Anyone who can read has read your hero worship of Trump.

are you being swayed by propaganda? If not, then please now decry all the official pictures of harris being HEAVILY filtered (not soft filtered, not air brushed, but intrinsically altered) .. go ahead, you can do it - show you are fair and even handed

I think folks care… the problem is that the left has been strongly suspected of bringing forward folks who lie about problems in the name of getting their way.

Bork.

Thomas.

The kavanaugh accuser was very questionable.

The whole when it’s a conservative “the seriousness of the charge” requires scrutiny, but it’s all ignored when it’s a progressive.

The progressives thought that they could put a progressive in the WH because trump was so awful. Simply choosing a moderate candidate would have changed the calculus. Hell, I might have been willing to vote for a Manchin instead of a protest vote.

Sounds like there were quite a few more of us who disliked the progressives, and they disliked them more than they disliked the orange one.

I really doubt that the vast majority hadn’t heard about Trump’s issues. I doubt all of them think that they are totally unfounded, but don’t agree that the left was right about them either.

As for the GOP playing games, that has a real strong likelihood of biting them on the ass the next election if they play the Democrat’s games… face it, the he GOP has never been as good at that and if the Dems couldn’t get Trump in prison or thrown out of office, the GOP isn’t going to do anything other than piss away political capital for all it makes their base happy.

If I were Trump, I’d plead ignorance of the info in the house ethics investigation into Gaetz and drop him. I’d commute Hunter Biden’s sentence. I’d give the senate a chance to be reasoned with approvals before going to recess appointments.

As I see it, Gabbard and RFK Jr are “bipartisanship” as far as Trump goes…. If the Dems choose to fall on that sword, so be it.

I do find RFK Jr goofy, but then I’m not a fan of many of Biden’s (or Obama’s or Trump’s) cabinet picks, so it is what it is. I’m more interested in seeing how they govern. Trump’s choices have the chance of rebalancing Washington or continuing the right/left swinging we have been doing since Regan left office.

Biden was accused of sexual assault. Walz, too, but on students. Bill Clinton, Trump, Remember “Monkey Business” and Clarence Thomas and Kavanaugh…. Heck, John Kennedy allegedly slept with a barely legal intern. Kamala and her married boyfriend. The California congressman and the Chinese spy.

Public service dredges up folks with long memories… some true and some political fiction. Lots of qualified people don’t want because they may have a skeleton in the closet or someone will invent one assuredly.

Gratz has a problem besides sex claims. He is one of the congressmen who kicked out a speaker. The establishment in both the House and Senate won’t forgive that regardless of sex claims and the fact the Biden DOJ didn’t bring charges. Payback is a MF.

I have been saying for many years that Matt Gaetz is a Putin agent.

Where did he get his political funding, his quick rise in the GOP etc.

I do hope something positives comes from all this, since both Gaetz and Trump are known to patronize hookers, maybe the services that they provide will one day become tax deductible. Can I get some some support from our evangelical members for a change to our tax code that all good Christians should be able to support?

Well, No one has presented anything to back up that assertive accusation. I have only seen you make it.

I think Gaetz is a horrible person and bad statesman. I do not think he is qualified to run the DOJ. I accept he is innocent, and not even indicted.

I also understand that it cuts both ways. The alleged victim was 17. Consent in Florida is 17. The only way the Feds could get him is if they could prove beyond a reasonable doubt he took her across state lines for sex.

You WOKE SOROS radical ultra liberal democrats deserve Matt Gaetz. I am not a Gaetz fan
boy . You signed up for “Gaetz “ starting in 2016 when your Soros / Obama woke ultra liberal democrat party weaponized the justice department and started the LAWFARE . You fucked with Trump for a solid EIGHT YEARS with relentless garbage pursuits. Anyone with any type of spine is going to fight back after what was done to Trump. Now your Soros/Obama WOKES will receive a flurry of attacks and retribution for your immoral and evil ways that hopefully will be much stronger than your unsuccessful attacks upon Trump. Fortunately Gaetz is far more intelligent and stronger than those dumb fuckers in your woke demo party that you released upon Trump that hasn’t had one charge to permanently stick. You fight scum with scum. Biden’s, Schipp, Schumer, Nadler, Schumer, Mayorkas, Pelosi, Raskin, Clinton’s and man others you can add to the list of Democratic scum and their assignees will get a well deserved legal awakening . God bless America.

Back to your shrink, you obviously need an adjustment in your medication. Bat shit crazy does not really quite cover you cuckoo

Federal prosecutors don't ever determine that anyone under investigation has done "nothing wrong", only whether they have adequate credible evidence to convict.
