There are good reasons for senate approval.

This is one of many examples.

It amazes me, the characters that get into Trump's orbit and favor, some later thrown under the bus, some convicted, some just crash, some promoted for their slick corruption.

DOJ dropped the investigation, House Ethics Committee is still investigating the whole sorry affair, which is surprising considering the Republicans control the committee. Gaetz’s best friend was convicted in the original investigation of sex trafficking of a minor.

Well, you can look at it in several ways, this being America.

His accusations have no facts behind them, only politically motivated.

Or he is as guilty as hell.

He'll skate. He's resigned so end of investigation. If not confirmed then who knows.

Also not sure if he resigned from the current congress only or the upcoming one for which he has not been sworn in.

Surely ledvm will have something good to say about Trump selecting Gaetz. I do like that Gaetz resigned, because I don't think Gaetz will get enough votes to become AG. https://www.foxnews.com/politi...general-johnson-says But then I thought Americans were smart enough not to re-elect a lying, convicted felon. I'm just glad Jeffrey Epstein is dead. Trump probably would have made him Secretary of Education or something similar.

Of all Trump’s picks, he will see the most opposition.
Still, he’s magnitudes better than Merrick Garland.
All Americans should be embarrassed by that man.
Have you’ve we seen or heard Garland give a decisive or even cogent explanation at any Congressional hearing? I haven’t.

Oh please Heym, you’re smarter than that.
Every moment that Garland or the DOJ or the left contingent here on the ARPF spent vilifying Trump has Ben shown to be a colossal waste of time and/or taxpayer money.
Our country has been subjected to injustices during the Biden administration which are vastly more important to address than going after Trump.
I’m convinced that rhe AG’s office and the DOJ used the anti Trump effort to divert attention to all of the things they were fucking up.

Fuckin Amazing.

Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-Fla.) resignation from Congress came two days before the House Ethics Committee was set to vote on releasing a “highly damaging” report outlining its investigation into the Republican, according to multiple sources familiar with the probe.

The committee planned to vote Friday on releasing the report. Ethics loses its jurisdiction over Gaetz when he leaves Congress.

The secretive panel has been investigating Gaetz on and off since 2021.

President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would nominate Gaetz to be attorney general Wednesday.

Nothing but the best people.

“The hardline Republican was one of several subjects of the investigation, which began in 2020 and saw several of Mr Gaetz's associates - including a former girlfriend - testifying after reaching plea deals with the government”

“ they have concluded their (DOJ) investigation... [into] allegations related to sex trafficking and obstruction of justice and they have determined not to bring any charges”

So, even with “several” pled in witnesses the DOJ dropped the case.
Apparently Garland is the greatest AG in history to pin that case down…

Story by Mike Bedigan • 16h • 2 min read

Bolton is an ignorant idiot! clap

I think Bolton used the correct word:

During an interview with CNN, Bolton was asked about those selected by the President-elect so far. “I do think there’s a group of people who think that they are going to be able to screen out people, not on the basis of philosophy so much as on their attitude toward the president,” he said.

“And the word loyalty is often used. I think that’s the wrong word. Actually, I think what Trump wants from his advisors is fealty, really a futile sense of subservience.

“And you know, he may get that, but I will tell you that that will not serve him well over the course of his next term, and it certainly won’t serve the country well.”

Webster’s dictionary defines “loyalty” as “the quality or state or an instance of being loyal,” and “fealty” as “the fidelity of a vassal or feudal tenant to his lord.”

I think you're referring to Bill Barr.

And if Bolton "was a kiss arse idiot", so what?

A blind hog finds and acorn sometimes with his nose. The stench of Trump's plans is smelled around the world. I'm sure you can smell it in Dubai.

Degenerate 1:1 - 4
1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it". 2 He said, "There shall be male and female. That's all I have to say about that". 3. Trump blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth. All the resources of the earth are ours to exploit.” 4. Then Trump said, "Dominate the liberal vermin, the enemy within, as it is your duty as Patriot and fealty unto Me and the Nation We have re-created in My Image".

I don't like colonoscopy doctors either. They both have arshitus. Wink

Correction - a portion of the country picked Trump.

Apparently he wasn't the easiest to beat.

Harris was a good candidate. The majority preferred Trump's shtick.

The problem as I see it is Trump is a demagogue prototype and media especially Fox News authenticated him with some really bad but effective propaganda.

He proved the power of demagoguery supported sycophants and by a propaganda machine media.

That's a winning formula. I don't know how to beat it. What I dread is that next time a flip side demagogue will run in opposition. A contest between two versions of demagoguery? Not good.
