Gaetz is from my state. While I generally vote Republican, I wouldn't vote for Gaetz for dog catcher.

He was involved with a notorious scumbag from the county I live in who is now spending many years behind bars for his escapades.

This appointment is the biggest disappointment I have with the appointments thus far.

You are free to think of me however you want and those who know me in real life can get a good chuckle out of reading posts from you like the above.

Since you were apparently pretending to not understand due to a typo, I figured I would define "curcus" for you with an unwholesome and vulgar analogy representing Trump's vile shtick. "Circus" is generally considered wholesome and fun. That's not Trump. I misspelled some words intentionally as a test in two ways. Congrats, you passed both.

I suppose Gaetz is no worse than a person who has gone on record as stating that vaccines are worthless and dangerous heading the DHHS. I suppose polio, measles, meningitis, tetanus, typhoid, diphtheria, influenza, yellow fever, etc, etc, etc, are best treated rather than prevented. Sure sounds like great public policy championed by a person with zero medical background, education, or experience. And BTW, CHILDHOOD VACCINES DO NOT CAUSE AUTISM!! Come on, Lane, tell us all about how RFK is remotely qualified to oversee the FDA, CDC, USDA, ETC…. Your enlightened response should be really interesting…. popcorn

Please enlighten me on the law he violated.

As far as him costing the state money…Texans must be happy with him as he keeps getting reelected — against some pretty good opposition in the last.

Running any Executive Agency requires both administrative and budgetary expertise. Becerra was a politician, a usual but not ideal "qualification", while Burwell was uniquely qualified, with more than a decade running the Gates Foundation then the Walmart Foundation and the Office of Management and Budget before her appointment as Secretary. Also, she didn't use heroin for 14 years and never had a brain worm.

Traditionally, in addition to having some actual qualifications for a Cabinet position it has been required that a Nominee not have glaring disqualifications, like having to resign a House seat to try to forestall an ethics report on underage sex and illicit drug use for an Attorney General hopeful or a history of brain worms, heroin addiction and promulgation of conspiracy theories for, really, any Federal job.

Of course if one belongs to any of the many Christian denominations that tolerate pastors and other church leaders grooming and molesting the children of the flock I guess a heroin addict isn't a deal breaker if he's on your side.

Gaetz (and likely Kennedy) is a stalking horse, there's really no expectation he'll survive confirmation, he (they) is/are just being staked out in plain sight while they sneak unqualified turds like a Fox News talking head into the Pentagon.

When Gaetz flames out they'll probably nominate Rudy to keep the attention off the Russian asset they want to turn the intelligence community over to; I think that's the price Putin insisted on.
