I dunno where you live since you hide behind a fake name and don't list a location. It ain't Texas, I'll tell you that. Undocumented workers up the wazoo here. And, it never presents a problem until folks like you decide to stick your nose into it.

I dunno. To me, crisis isn't the correct word. But, maybe you can help me. I've asked before. The great depression was a crisis. World War 2 was a crisis. The Cuban Missile thing was a crisis.

How are people coming to the US looking for jobs a crisis?

By the way, did you know that a larger percentage of people in the US were immigrants in 1890 than today?

What sort of crisis, emergency, disaster or predicament does the immigration influx cause?

You know Mike, i may not be able to help answer that - Perhaps you should ask Mayor Adams? I mean, if you can't see that 8,000,000 people flooding into the country without processing, documentation, or any checks what so ever is a crisis, I am likely not an accept source of authority. Mayor Adams, who has less than a week's worth of Texas' illegal immigrants, want to declare an emergency

So, maybe we should institute a process that provides processing, documentation and checks into the process of letting people into the country to work? Wouldn't that make sense?

No?

Why?

Waiting for you to tell me about the "crisis".

What's been happening that makes it a crisis?

So illegals never steal, drive drunk, rape or molest or kill anyone? And, of course you have proof of this, correct?
I live on the northern border next to Quebec. Our Border Patrol has been depleted, sending officers to the Southern border.
We now have an influx of illegals from all over. It's cold. They are breaking into houses, sheds etc. Stealing cars to drive wherever.
You are a fucking dumbass if you dont think this issue affects everyone, so yes, my nose is in it.

I know. I've posted up stats and studies here many times that establish undocumented immigrants commit crime at a rate far lower than US citizens. I'm not going to waste time doing it again.

I am sure that undocumented workers are swarming into an area thousands of miles from the border where you live in Quebec so they can steal cars and break into sheds.

Correct.

What is govt for if not to solve this sort of crisis?

Agreed.

Remind me again what the "crisis" is? People are coming across the border so they can get jobs to support their familes building our housing, bussing our tables, building our roads, and so on.

Mike,

I have linked to a number of various news outlets with press releases and opinions from the Democrat Governor of Arizona, and both sitting Senators from Arizona, one a Democrat, and one a recently converted Democrat.

All three think there is a problem with how this has unfolded.

That you choose to ignore that is on you.

I think it's the purview of congress and the WH.

I can't be sure where the dysfunction's epicenter is, but it seems to me that there is a lot of focus on making the other side wrong, strictly for votes rather than solving the problem.

If Trump is a solution - gwad help us.

You dont read the news do you? There was a car with illegals that ran the border at the Niagra crossing and detonated. I think they were middle eastern, you can look it up yourself.
Look up yourself, the increase in illegal crossing on the north border.
Go ahead and send me a threatening PM like you like to do to others. See what my return challenge will be.
As far as crime rates, if they are not here illegally, they have no crime rate to add to what we have.

Except that car was strictly on the U.S. side, a Bentley owned by a wealthy couple, white, who owned several hardware stores. The KISS concert they were going to attend was cancelled so they decided to go to a casino in Canada but didn't make it, most likely a medical emergency.

The video of the Bentley flying in at over 100 mph, on the American side, was widely distributed.

There is no one person who is going to solve this. Trump had his fucking chance and blew it.

And to kind of prove your point, I realized that, when Barack Obama failed to live up to his promise to pass comprehensive immigration reform in his first year of his first term when the Dems held the reins of power of the Executive branch and the purse strings of the Legislative branch.
https://www.politifact.com/tru...tion-bill-first-yea/

Let's face it, if they really wanted to get it done, they would have.

They didn't, and neither have any of the administration's that followed.

Like I said, collectively, the politicians who make up our government don't give a shit.
People pretending that they do are foolish, but to turn a blind eye to this particular issue in favor of politics is simply cutting off thier nose to spite their face.

Mike I do truly appreciate that.

I have not demonized migrants, documented or not, now or ever.

I have formed a world view by traveling it.

My world view dictates that the USA is the greatest melting pot on Earth.

We are for the most part here all immigrants and we should all be celebrating our differences, not condemning them.

Living on the border has it's own set of challenges.

In my Grandfather's time here it was cattle rustlers and horse thieves.

In my Father's time the drug trade.

Now, it is mass migration.

My concerns lie strictly in the operational control of the border and its apparatus that affect National Security. Both of which I believe could be in jeopardy.

Do you have any facts that support the assertion that there are Russians or terrorists crossing the southern border? Or, has the FOX narrative just changed to the national security argument?

actually, he posted said link right above your post - there's more CONFRIMED terror watch border jumpers than Trump has cases - if one is significant, then so is the other

Just in case Mike dosen't care for the linked article from the Daily Wire, here's another from a different source:

And Mike, you will note, it is Director Wray who confirmed the National Security threat, not Rupert Murdoch
and the Koch Bros

https://homeland.house.gov/202...risis-at-the-border/

From FBI Director Christopher Wray:

"...Director Wray confirmed the national security threat posed by the nearly 1.8 million gotaways and the rising number of individuals on the terrorist watchlist apprehended crossing the Southwest border, as well as the more 7.8 million individuals encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) since Biden and Mayorkas took office. Mayorkas could not confirm whether every suspected terrorist that crosses the Southwest border illegally is detained by CBP..."

“FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday said that the number of illegal immigrants evading Border Patrol agents and escaping into the country is a source of “great concern” for the agency, as he told lawmakers that threats from the other side of the border are “consuming” FBI field offices."

“Wray testified to lawmakers on the House Homeland Security Committee about “worldwide threats” to the U.S. Chairman Mark Green asked Wray about the numbers of gotaways — illegal immigrants at the border who evaded Border Patrol — which have exceeded 600,000 in FY 23."

.

I'm not saying there isn't a potential threat. Of course there is....and has been for decades, I might point out. I'm saying that the idea that a group of terrorists would utilize the southern border as an entry point seems pretty remote. Walking or driving across Arizona or south Texas with bombs and AK-47's?

Why wouldn't they just fly in? And, buy a bunch of AR's and AK's at a gun show along with a shitload of ammunition? And build their own explosives?

We need comprehensive immigration reform to deal with the problem. These people want to work to take care of their families. They're not terrorists or Russian spies for god's sake. They want construction and service jobs. You know, the jobs Americans aren't usually interested in doing.

In other words, I'm not buying the argument that keeping immigrants out is a national security issue. If it is, it's been one that both the republicans and the Democrats have been ignoring for a long time.

In the 1600s, it was a serious national security issue. The existing governments lost everything they had, everything they were ever going to have.

IDK, but they've caught 150+ terror watch list guys, and 10s of thousands of Non-Latinos -

Well, my curiosity finally got the best of me (lol) and I started digging.

The numbers surprised even me.

“In 2021, CBP reported 4,103 encounters of Russian citizens along our Southwest border. It continues to increase. Following the start of the war in Ukraine, this number jumped from 21,763 in 2022, and then in 2023, it rose again to 33,000.Jun 21, 2023"

A following query led me to the fact 5,000 Russians have been caught in f.y. 2023 in just the Yuma Sector of Arizona alone.

So the running count over the last three years is along the lines of 55,000.
Of course that does not include an assumed percentage of Russians fron the 1.8 Million known gotaways, and of course unknown gotaways.

The following link is to an absolutely fascinating article from the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime, dated May 2023.

It is entitled: "Entrepreneurial Newcomers - Russian-speaking migrant smugglers on the US southern border"
https://globalinitiative.net/a...-us-southern-border/

It details the Russian smuggling networks from Russia through Europe, Asia, and Africa into South and Central America, Mexico, and into the USA, and how it all works.

An Excellent Read, and a real eye-opener.

I am disturbed by the instability around the world now.

Israelis actually shot three of their own who were hostages in Gaza.

The migrant situation at the southern US border and around the world is directly associated, IMO.

It seems to me that a chaos POTUS, such as Trump, would only contribute to instability large scale.
