Just blatant , look at me I am a big man, arrogance.

I really have no idea Larry.

I would imagine anyone who does threaten several people on an open public forum has something seriously wrong with him.

I just got an e-mail from Rich. I am pleased to report that he is alive and well and enjoying life.

Many forget Rich is a Veteran that served admirably in Viet-Nam. While I have conversed with Rich for years and never had anything but pleasant times with him...I think all should cut the fellow a little slack...just my 2 cents FWIW.

Personally Lane, I find all this ripping and tearing in a public forum to be distasteful and just a sign of how people and times have changed. Subject matter for PM's and private e-mail in my opinion.

Tact and a certain level of decorum is severely lacking these days.

I have absolutely nothing against him, and I wish him all the best.

But, being a veteran does not give a person any right to threaten others.

There are hundreds of thousands of veterans, and I know that most of them are just decent, normal individuals.

I wonder if some of remember one of the veterans who everyone felt sorry for and we all ended buying him a safari?

That act of kindness did not turn out very well.

There Lane, fixed it for you.

Our world and each of us living on it are under stress right now. Maybe it has come the time when each of us, whether on this site, or in our daily lives, concentrate more on the things we have in common with others and take the emphasis off the lines of division.

We all have our differences concerning our individual approach to life and how we are affected by it, why bring those stresses on to a place where the main themes are firearms and hunting.

Instead of going straight to adversarial interactions, just let such conversations drop at everyone has had their own experiences.

Life is too short to bring a lot of unnecessary unwarranted stress on to an internet website simply because some one has a different viewpoint on a topic.

Well, I strongly disagree. Rich has something seriously wrong with him. I don't recall what prompted his PM to me, but I can assure you his threat to me came completely out of left field when I received it.

Within that PM, he also stated that my life meant nothing more to him than a bug being splattered on a windshield.

My father-in-law was an Army Ranger, did two tours in Vietnam and received a Silver Star for his actions. Not once has he ever threatened me in any shape, or form, especially over something so petty as an Internet discussion.

Rich was the one who started the tango with me, and I don't feel AR will lose anything appreciable with him being gone now.

That is one of the few issues we agree totally on.

PTS is a strange phenomenon - particularly for those who have been through prolonged hand to hand combat or prolonged exposure to other forms of trauma including abuse.

I just hope Rich has good family & friends around to care for him and just shower him with love and support along with the occasional rev up!

Very true but if flashbacks are really the reason behind a threatening PM with explicit details about knives and blood running down one's arm and off an elbow after 40+ years I would be more concerned about the person joining the ranks of the 22 veteran suicides per day.

Either way and whatever the cause there is no excuse for such behavior.

Why don't you step back and realize that he created his own problems around here.

I have known Rich for over a decade. He has always been kind to me. He is a patriot. He is quirky...but I give him a pass for his service. If you don't get along with the guy...stay away from him.

But don't turn him into the principal then start a thread to humiliate him after getting him banned. Where I come from...men don't do that.

While I am stepping back Graybird...please explain to me the point of the OP. Did Ted think everyone was going to rejoice that the playground was made safe??? I want to know...what was the intent? It looks to me like it was to humiliate.

Regardless of the intent of the OP, the reality is that Rich's actions suffered the result. I know for certain there were myself, Scottyboy and Mark Young that he was threatening at the same time because we had a private discussion with Saeed at the time. This was some years ago, so it seems that Rich continued to do some questionable things, which ultimately got him banned.

I personally don't think very highly of people who threaten to run a blade in my guts, and I will NOT give anyone a "pass" for such threats regardless if they served in the military, or not.

Duplicity has become quite common on AR of late . . . fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, it is generally patently obvious what is going on.

Ted has a chip of his shoulder towards some personality types. He has a bug up his backside towards my two threads on Mark Young's contract and my elk hunt with Selkirk. I offered my hand in friendship and invited him to AK to our shoot and he replied with several veiled shots. He is now just giving some shit to ISS now that ISS can't fight back. Of course, if Ted's heart gives out, ISS will have the last laugh.

A few years ago I was in ISS's sights but all managed to smooth over. No worries. At least Rich tells it like it is.
Cheers, all.

My, my, my, how all too easy and too human to overlook our own part in a confrontation.

As Lane said it takes TWO to tango, and Two to make an argument.

Hasn't this been beat to death enough, two members had a personality clash, that is THEIR problem, why try to divide the rest of the membership and expect them to take sides?????

Cal.......

A couple quick points.....I made but just a couple post to this thread

This thread is now 3 pages...... not by my hand

Funny that I'm the bad guy now for it....

I won't loose any sleep

Yes you invited me to Alaska.......I'm not financially able to do so and stated that a trip up there to mingle and shoot double rifles was above my payscale and I more than likely didn't have much in common with the double rifle class. Some members have since told me that I would be pleasantly surprised to see different but the financial still holds to be the same.

I no doubt did not agree with two threads of yours but if I remember correctly....without digging them up the two of us got through those discussions without anyone feeling threatened or insulted in any way. I certainly did not send you any threatening or insulting PM's

BTW........when my heart does give out, I hope it's at 9 or 10,000 ft with a very very heavy pack on my back and bloody hands.

After that happens......It won't matter what I care or anyone else for that matter

ledvm,

Saeed can tell you.

If Idaho Sharpshooter has been banned, it wasn't by my hand.

My OP was directed toward the obvious absence of the member that averages over 5 post per day for eleven years....then fell silent

My question was answered.......3 pages later it seems others were far more interested than I of his whereabouts
