This guy is doing some target practice with an atlatl and he is really pretty good. I haven't seen many people who can actually use one of these things. He also has tutorials on how to tune darts for accuracy.

I'm currently studying many of the primitive skills, including flint knapping, I'm not very good at it.
After looking at it, I think it would take about 20 times as much skill to accurately use an atlatl as compared to a bow and arrow,20 times as much practice.
At this point I am convinced that time would be better spent building a bow and arrows, as compared to an atlatl or a sling. I have a couple slings I have been practicing with for weeks, no chance I could hit anything, yet.

Maybe an atlatl crossbow is needed
