Wendell is the booking agent, not the PH. What PH/Safari Company are you interested in? I have booked hunts through Wendell and despite being a Texan in my experience he has always conducted himself in a professional and ethical manner.

Wendell is a booking agent, and one of the best. Wendell has booked several hunts for me. My first hunt in Africa was in Mozambique, and I was able to take a decent bull, even though if was primarily a buffalo and croc hunt. Wendell will not steer you wrong. He is a very serious hunter himself, and has a superb reputation as a booking agent.

I believe that Wendell books hunts in Namibia, Tanzania, Botswana and Zim. Maybe Moz too. Which country are you interested in?

+1 It's like asking someone: "What do you think about food?" A little more info.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

AS a side note a good booking agent can make your hunt a lot more enjoyable by removing the head aches that often go with booking hunt on your own. And if there is a problem after your hunt they are invaluable at clearing up problems. Steve's wife Susan was a sweet heart and a blessing for me on my FIRST hunt

I hunted elephant in Namibia last year on a hunt booked through Wendell. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. What I liked about Wendell is that he is not pushy, he doesn't over sell, if anything he under sells.Everybody that I have talked to before or since has nothing but good to say about him (even though he is a Texan). If Wendell had a hunt I was looking for I would book without hesitation.

Wendell has only one real flaw! I'm not sure "HIGH PRAISE" is indicated all the time with him. He's been known to book hunts for even the illegal aliens from the People's republic of Kalifornia, and the sheep herders from Wyoming! Big Grin

If you can look past that affliction, he'll book you a real safari! tu2

I booked an Elephant hunt through Wendell with Dudley Rogers. Hunt was great, Dudley's son Clinton was my PH. Plenty of elephants, shot a 30 lb non-trophy bull(exactly what I booked). If Wendell had somthing I was looking for I wouldn't hesitate to book through him. I would also hunt with Dudley anytime. He runs a good outfit.

It kills me to say this about a competitor, but Wendell is a great guy and agent. He'll take good care of you.

Decide what you want as far as trophy quality. Hunt type, etc. If Wendell says he can do that, you can bank on it!!

I could be considered one with an axe to grind but that will not happen!!

Wendell deliberately delays trophy shipments and in general is a very shady dude. Just ask that kooky broad who he gypped. Watch out!

We have a bunch of good agents here on AR. Three are named or have posted above, you must have a good operation to be able to recomend or provide reference for another.

I have actually hunted with Wendell a number of times, and have taken my personal friends along who will vouch for Wendell. I consider him a friend and an excellent agent.
