Anyone planning to be in Vegas and is there any get together for AR members?
It would be interesting to meet any of you boys

We arrive on Monday and leave late Saturday night, staying at Mandalay Bay.

I'll be down there Monday - Sunday staying at the Mandalay Bay as well.

Will be in Texas for a few days looking at cattle handling facilities so will only arrive Thursday till Sunday,

How much does it cost to attend sci if you are not a member?

If one is not a member one cannot attend. I am sure someone can list all the fees involved in becoming a Member and approximate costs of getting to LV and attending 4 days at the Show.

My daughter and I will be there the entire time. Plan to book an Ele hunt.

Mrs Blacktailer and I will be there Wed afternoon and all day Thurs. Maybe we can plan an AR get together at one of the lounges at 5pm each day. We did that at Reno a few years ago.

I will be there Feb.4th through Feb.8th.I think a get together would be fun.

I had to cancel DSC due to the delayed arrival of Beau's new daughter (my granddaughter finally made her appearance Sunday). So I have changed my SCI reservations to arrive on Tue and depart Sat evening. Due to business commitments, Beau will arrive early Sat morning and depart Sat evening.

I believe this will be my 19th SCI convention in the past 20 years - got sick and had to cancel one. I always look forward to meeting old and new friends. I will be staying at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. I arranged the AR get together in Reno 3 years ago and do hope someone can arrange a venue for cocktails and/or dinner in LV. UEG???

Coming Thursday and leaving on Sunday.

We are taking the kids to Disneyland first or second week of February and I'm trying to convince my wife that we need to go through Vegas either on the way there or back. Which day should I shoot for? Anything extra cool going on any particular day?

I will be attending after all. Went to DSC as planned and had a GREAT time. But, a very low airfare, half what it cost to fly to Dallas, 4 nights free at the Luxor and no entry fee for 4 days at the Show changed my mind. Just couldn't pass this up, so looking forward to making it 17 years in a row at SCI.

I will spend most of my time researching as many outfitter booths to make sure that they are legal, ethical, not in bed with SCI higher ups and adhering to all the things some of the folks here are always whining about.

Joking of course, looking forward to the Show and catching up to some AR folks at the Giraffe Bar or elsewhere.

I have not convinced my self that I am going, still pissed that the venue changed from Reno. But I will probably drive down from Reno and be there Friday and Saturday, just to see the AR folks of course

Full Roar: You only need be pissed at your Reno Convention and Visitors Authority and the Reno International Airport Authority. Neither had considered or developed long term plans for expansion and that's why SCI decided to leave for Vegas. We'll still welcome our brother from the North with open arms! LionHunter: I'll be hunting Coues Deer in Mexico and then on to San Diego for some family business until just before the convention(Leaving today after lunch). I'm sure that there are plenty of experienced folks here on AR that can organize a get together like the ones that you all have in Dallas.

UEG - You are spot on for the reason SCI had to leave Reno as a convention site. Reno didn't plan ahead or chose not to expand their facilities enough to accommodate SCI, so the move for SCI was one of "have to" not necessarily "want to".

Have a great Coues hunt in Mexico and will look forward to some pics at SCI.

Reno expanded their convention center some years ago, specifically for SCI. They are supposedly unable or unwilling to expand it further and are simply undersized for how large SCI has become. And the Reno airport and air service has long been a sore point with SCI members, particularly those east of the Mississippi.

Personally, I preferred Reno as the venue and I believe the SCI show has become way too big, but I wasn't asked for my opinion.
