Oh, this thread predicts us all for a bad end. What is it in the 9.3x66 that makes people so frivoulous (sp?)? homer

I am sorry to bring this off topic but I cant stand your ideas about how to get to Africa any longer. There is in my point of view one and only one way to get there. Tickets will be available shortly.

I´ll drop Erkki a line but I suspect that Marterius is right in his assumption.

My .416 Rigby is built on the L61 and functions nicely -boha keeps pointing out that it is push feed which I know thank you very much.

A very nice gun, boha is actually redoing the stoch and finish as we speak.

A Viking boat? We´ll scare the shit out of Bob!

The right action for the 9.3x66 must be a Sako Mauser with the FN-made 98 action... I know one for sale here in Sweden for about $ 300. thumb

Marterius: That Sako sounds like a good buy...too bad I´m not buying at the moment.

I´d be sort of interested in a 9.3x70 but do I need it?

No.

I thank you kindly for this Commission! I am after all the only one on these forums who can sail me own tall ship DOWNHILL (or is it downwater??) As I understand it from up here in the frozen north it is all downhill to Africa

I most certainly will not, Mr Cewe. I will arm my boat with cartridges aimed at explosives, like Bogart did in the film, and gloriousely attack the Zimbabwean Navy.

That, Sir, is the proper thing to do.

Where is their Naval base to be found?

By the way, Marterius, did you acctually know that a song about Cewe was concieved in the deepest part of the Northern Province back in -03? I might try to remember it..

The Zimbabwean Navy Base should be close to water, of that I´m sure.

Boha,

Nice boat! I like the rigging. The sail looks a little tired, but then so do we.

I have been signing up able bodied crew members:

My daughter has volunteered to be master at arms:

The hell with going back to the frozen North. We will burn our boats on the beach.

cewe,
It's a joke! When I see a new rifle Lois asks if I will buy it. I say I don't need it. She says, "What's your point?", as in "what does need have to do with whether or not you buy a new rifle." Sorry, American slang.

That is my adopted daughter. She was a bit rudderless when she first came into the clinic. Lois and I took an interest in her, became god parents, and helped her with boundaries and direction in life. She is now doing very well in college, and works in the Air National Guard. After school she will try for a pilot position flying A-10 "Warthogs" or C-130 "Hercules" trash haulers. She is a wonderful kid. She calls that Glock 9mm, "baby".

Boha, I very much like the lines of that boat. The picture makes me think of Juhani Aho and his stories about fishing for pike in the archipelago. I guess it must have looked something like that?

As a child my favorite activities always revolved around making things go bang. Those harmless oursuits will get a kid thrown in jail these days.

I have been a "bad influence" on the kids according to relatives and neighbors. So long as they kept their grades up in school, I never cared if they actually went to class.

They all learned to drive as soon as their feet could reach the pedals (we taped blocks on for Ashleigh because she didn't want to wait).

Rochelle will make for a good transport pilot. She plays well with others and is good about following the rules.

She is older than that, but I do not know exactly how old. In her twenties if I am not mistaken, but I am not a good judge of these things. It is irrelevant in my case, but as she is a Texan there are a number of younger men than me down here following her career with great interest.

This is the family ranch.

Wombat's sticking point is getting 9,3 x 66 brass. If anybody know where we can get unmarked 30-06 basic brass, I'll pop for some forming dies.

I'm hopin that Norma will make some 9,3 x 66 brass. If not, we may be able to go in on a bulk buy from Sako.

Huntingtons is trying to get some brass in as well.

I'm with Malcom Wombat. Can you post some pictures of your progress. I'll do so also.

I guess we are officially back on track.

Lawndart (and to whom else it may concern): I just got word from Erkki on the OAL info. They had planned on a 87mm OAL but that wouldn´t fit in the Sako 75 IV action so that had to shorten it. This of course affects case capacity but using VV N550 they are able to get a 250gr bullet moving +800m/s (they´re using Barnes bullets specially made with a deeper set crimp groove). PM me for the exact loads -at your own risk.

Erkki also said that you don´t actually need a new reamer, just use the 9.3x62 reamer and deepen the cut by 4mm:s. As I am techically disinclined I´ll leave this to you guys.

Back on track.

Can we get back to the women now?

Who´s the blond? Can I have her please?

If Norma should market 9.3x66 brass they would probably be made by Sako, or perhaps Norma is making the brass for Sako as it is, or perhaps Lapua will make the brass for all of them... bewildered Norma makes brass for a lot of others, including the ones above and Federal, Winchester, Kynoch and RWS - and of course Weatherby. Probably Hirtenberg as well, since Norma is ownd by RUAG Ammotech and Hirtenberg is a part of that constellation. I am pretty sure also it works the other way round in many cases (no pun intended).

Martin

Hmmmmm,
This is not good.
I have also start to thinking about rechamber my Husqvarna 1600 Special to 9,3x66 and if one can use the 9,3x62 reamer it would be a piece of a cake. Or shall one go for the 9,3mm Norma Magnum instead? (.358 N M Necked up)

Marterius,
The Hirtenberg plant is closed down. Norma and RWS makes the Hirtenberg cases as you wrote. Norma makes RWS new .404 cases nowadays and Norma makes most of the GECO cases. Norma has constructed and made ALL .338 Lapua Magnum cases bewildered

This is all very confusing - Lapua is Norma and Hirtenberg is part of something, Federal is Norma and Sako is...Barnes?

If you think about it this is kind of strange, like the trolls on these forums, who are someone else.. Confused

The question arises...
Am I me?

Still waiting for the cases!

Australia
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

ôve checked with suppliers all over Scandinavia and the cases are on back order from Sako.
