Here's another hypothetical. Now that a lot of folks have told us who they would like to have as a PH from the past or present, given the choice, who on AR, would you like to hunt Afica with?

Mac,
I second that comment...and hope to make it happen some day soon. I can't think of a better group of guys to share a camp fire with.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! OK, I'll go first - Retreever & Die Ou Jagter - in Tanzania. Now, you guys, since Joyce is retired & I'm darn near broke, which of the two of you will buck up & pay for my safari with you, now that I've sucked up to both of you ? I'm waiting ..........

I'd like to hunt Africa or anywhere for that matter with a friend I made on AR, "Taylorce"
and an old friend of mine from my childhood that I reconnected with by chance on AR, "logjam".
Have seen some interesting characters on here some I'd like to meet but I have to get to know someone to walk afield with them with guns in hand, I don't trust just anyone with a loaded weapon unless they show me they handle a gun safely regardless of age, experience or personality. My very first choice of anyone to go to hunt in Africa with is my brother, my two friends are a very close second.

To paraphrase Will Rodgers, I can't think of an AR member that I've met that I didn't like.

Whichever ones are after the "tiny five" or whatever its called, so I can hunt the big stuff without simultaneous "competition". Cool

Now it the question was "who would you like to have a drink and a couple of hours of BS with" several come to mind.

Beyond all, my son. He is eight, have a few more years yet before it will happen.

Then I'll second 465H&H's thoughts. I would like to hunt with him and see him shelac an ele with 550gr Woodleighs.

Also 500 Grains, 450NE No2, Will and other members here who love to elephant hunt.

As has been said, almost anyone on the forum would be a good companion. However, my hunting partner of over 25 years, Brett, and I will be going to Namibia next June. We'll be hunting 2-1 because, like Walter and Saeed, its more fun laughing at each other. No competition between us either.

I had the pleasure to meet several AR members in Dallas 2007, some members who have come through Paris on their travels and some of the Euro AR members. They are all great people and I would gladly hunt with any of them.

I'd love to hunt with Saeed, of course and I actually know Walter and he's a pretty special guy particularly if you like European Football (Germany and Spain?) ... 1115 is my brother-from-another-mother... Ol' Fart Ray.... Tony Black.... Palmer, I've been in camp with Shakari and he's tops... and others too many to mention... but this past June I had the opportunity to hunt with my sweethearts!

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

There are a lot of guys that i would love to hunt with. There also are guys that encouraged us a lot when my wife was sick in Africa. MacD73, Rusty, Ray Atkinson were alway the three people than wrote a note the quickest. They also coached me on a double rifle purchace I bought from Dirk De Bod in Namibia while living there. (someone threatened me with money and i sold it, I feel so ashamed! Smiler) There are a load of other guys that have been great friends. I haven't posted a lot in the last year due to change in jobs. But now i have more time...

Based on the fact that I don't know actually know anyone in real life this is all a guess.

Anyone who wants to hunt not shoot, spend more time hunting than drinking, it would help if they could talk but its not really required.

They would have to know how to handle a firearm safely, get along with my wife with out hitting on her, bonus points if you can teach me something.

They also have to add more value to my life than they take away.

I would guess there are quite a few who would meet the requirements.
