Thanks for posting this news - sad to hear. I knew Bill professionally for 35+ years, but didn't realize until a few years ago when I saw his photo in one of his books that he was both the author of African hunting books and the mechanical engineering professor that I knew! Such sad news. I enjoyed knowing and talking to Bill. He was one of a kind. Bill, was a hunter true to himself. I remember Buzz telling the story about the first hunt he booked with Bill. Bill walked up to Buzz and declared, “I don’t walk, I don’t talk, and I don’t tip, do you still want to hunt with me?” One of a kind. Sad day. Rest in peace. Mike | |||

Very sad news. RIP, Bill. I've signed copies of all of his books, and wear an elephant belt and carry an elephant wallet he made, daily. He made my wife a beautiful elephant clutch and wallet a few years ago for an anniversary gift. | |||
