My buddy with a puma hunted this month on a farm that is side by side with his property (50,000 acres of thornbush Big Grin). "El léon" as they call them there was responsable of 4 recent calf kills.

He told me that the weight was 80 kilos. It looks smaller to me, but my buddy is tall and it seems the picture don't make justice with that great cat.

It took a "hunting trip" of one hour to put the cat ontop a tree Big Grin

lorenzo,

do you really think that puma weighs 80 kilo = 176 pounds.

i would guess looking at it it would be closer to 80 pounds, not kilos.

maybe it is like the 500 pound lions in africa...that never were on a scale, but estimated to weigh 500 pounds

well, thats all bullshit, let me tell you. i got a full grown male which scored gold medal in sci and made the roland ward record book too. they don't come much better than that.

i estimated he weighed 9000 pounds... but on the scale one hour after being killed the scale said 350 pounds !

now what do you think of that ? i think the ph say fabulous numnbers to their client hoping for a bigger tip.

the scale doesn't lie. the ph, well.....

I'm sure that scales lie all of the time. A lot of this technology is junk - and that seems like a darn fact to me. A perfect example is my range finder. I shoot lots of stuff at 450 yards or even more but the damn laser seems to quit at around 230 yards. What a complete waste of money. Frowner

Scruffy that's funny!! I was playing with cousins rangefinder and a bush 400 yards away was actually 240. I think that's a magic number.

Yo, Lorenzo !!! The Commando Cows (as you named them) stayed away until about three days were left ... they sent a couple of small fry to scout the place ... I met them with my normal manly screeching and they got the hell out of Dodge ... And then the last day .. as Margaret and I were loading up our little 4x4 to drive to Christie's and begin the long journey back to Canada - the sorry SOB's made a run at the camp !!! Eeker killpc holycow I wouldn't be at all surprised but that they're not living in the damn lapa right now !!! thumbdown I ate part of a cow last night. No regrets !!! Hi, Chef ! wave
