I don't see it on Uncle Mike's site any more but if you search for Uncle Mikes 1441-2 Swivels . It is marked for a rem 740, 760, 7600 and Six

You are right but the barrel diam is good at that spot.

Makes a hasty sling problematic. I drilled the wood on my Mini-14 (not that it made it accurate).

I thought about doing that on a Browning Safari 458 WM. I got as far as ordering this this from Midway. When I got it, I realized that the barrel is tapered but the clamp isn't. So, it didn't mount solidly, and I thought about trying to use epoxy, but set it aside. Suggestions/experience?

IMO no! and if anyone does, I still say no, I prefer mine milled too the barrel or at leased soldered..same for the front and rear ramps ramps and sights..
