I am going to make a very brief report.

I just finished a 10 day hunt with the above . This is my second hunt with them. I have the utmost respect for Riley Pitts.

Saw lots of game . Took a very nice caribou at 262 yards . I passed on a ram that I had dead to rights as he would have fallen over 1,000 feet had he taken a single step. It was the right call.

I cut the hunt a little short realizing that we were going to have to move again. This would be the 3rd lost day out of 10. Glad I did. Weather got worse . I’d still be there .

Some of the most magnificent country I have ever viewed .

BGBG is having a hell of a year. Met some really great people. Great guides and equipment.

Glad to hear you had a good hunt.

Take care.

You know Jeremy, I will be 65 in November . Training in the flatlands at less than 100 feet elevation has never been good for the mountains . Plus , I cannot walk well on the rocks . I went straight to the top, no problem when it wasn’t solid rocks. Nothing but rocks sucks and I suck at traversing them.

I may change my mind but right now I am a lot more concerned with why I haven’t whacked a buff since 2017.

I've been to or hunted ANWR over a dozen times and never get tired of seeing such a beautiful and remote area. May June July August are wonderful. The remainder is a dark ice box.

Congrats Larry and saw a picture of your caribou. Quite impressive. Well done!

I reviewed the entire BGBG website from start to finish last evening. A top notch, no nonsense outfit that has crossed all of the t's and dotted all of the i's in great detail. Great information on there for anyone hunting that area. Very impressed with them. Outstanding pics as well. tu2 Unfortunately, no pics of Larry's caribou. Big Grin Come on, Larry, let's see the pics! Big Grin

Well done Sir! And a difficult, classy and correct decision on not shooting the ram. Looks like your conditioning was plenty good enough. Congrats!

Thanks.

I was not happy with my conditioning. The last year has been full of issues including surgery which kept me down mid January through mid March.

The sheep decision was not hard.

Congratulations Larry, that’s a rugged but beautiful area of the world. I had noticed off BGBG’s website and your comments that you hunted, I believe, in 25&26. I was there in ‘81 for sheep & caribou and ‘84 for grizzly. If I can find the guide’s info and state Fish & Game correspondence, I'll drop it to you for a little nostalgic insight from nearly 40 years ago.

Caribou looks like a nice consolation prize for making the right call on the ram.

Did Riley get his cabin built up there this summer?
