That is going to make one fine mount. Have you decided on mount style yet?

Bear in Fairbanks,

John Peterson/ Bristol Bay outfitters that I've known for years and represent sent me this pic of an '08 ram from his ANWR area. It was such a great pic and a great ram that I thought I'd share it.

The Brooks is really coming into it's own right now with all the draw hunts now.
OTC is really a luxury now.

P.S. Boy! I wish that was a me. What a trophy!

Why do a few people still think that the Brooks don't hold big rams as compared to the Chugachs or some draw areas in the AK Range? I have seen a monster winter kill that was picked up some years back. And I have seen whats in there...nuff' said.

Well, so much for my excuse that I'm getting too old to sheep hunt. I'll have to revert to my fallback position...I'm just too fat and too lazy.

I'm 61 and spent about 3 weeks in the Brooks last Aug. and I'm far from the fittest dude there ever was. I just do it. If you don't go for it when you can, you'll surely regret it when you can't. I quit hunting for about 15 years in the mid-80's but decided that it was one of the activities I wanted to take back up. Now, I realize how much sheep hunting and the Brooks mean to me since I've gotten back in the sport. Regretably, we can't go this next Aug. but in Aug. 2010, those rams in "Ram Valley" in the Brooks had better watch out. I highly suggest you "go for it" while you can. There's just something that's unspoken when you're in the mountains. If you have to explain it to anyone then they won't understand. Words can't describe the feeling you get when you see a ram
outlined on a mountain top against the sky. Go for it. Bear in Fairbanks

Not really Mark. The Brooks has always produced good rams. More of the state is still OTC than draw.
