I don't want to get everyone's hopes up to much but Elliot posts on Calguns.net and I posted this:

Elliot, we have 27 left handed rifles on the list on accuratereloading.com already. I hope that you guys can make this work.

His answer was:

We shouldn't have any problems. I actually have a few of my other gun dealers who are going to order some as well. I am also going to order one as a present for my wife. It will happen.

SHOT Show is on right now.

Hopefully, I will receive price and ordering information by Friday.

Bsed on my earlier conversation with KVar's rep, no one will be collecting money for a group buy. you will order through your FFL.

Are there multiple action lengths depending on the caliber chosen for the model 70? If so what is the action length for those chambered in 7x57? I am assuming the model 85 is a mini action, is that correct? Thanks

Left hunter,

I would expect the 85 to be a mini-Mauser.

See the information here:
M70 Lefthand http://www.zastava-arms.rs/cms/index.php?id=234

M85 Lefthand http://www.zastava-arms.co.rs/cms/index.php?id=241

That's all we have to go by.

Did some metric conversions on the 70 and 85 action descriptions. (figure 25.4 mm per inch)

Model 70
Action length 9"
Magazine length 2.87" for short action rounds like .243 and .308, 3.38" for 7X57,.270, 6.5X55, .30-06 etc., 3.7" for .375 H&H and .458 WM.

Model 85:
Action length 7.18"
Magazine length 2.3"

Does anybody know what "Type of action: A, B or C" means? I can't see anything describing the differences. Doesn't seem to indicate bolt face differences, maybe length of bolt stop?

Really hope this deal comes through.

I'm interested in a Model 85 in 7.62x39, a Model 70 in .458 Win., and perhaps a Model 70 in .375 H&H or 9.3x62, depending on pricing and terms.

Also, could GeorgeS or someone clarify the ordering process for me. If I'm reading earlier posts correctly, we must have our FFL order and pay for the guns. In other words, we cannot (as individuals) confirm our order and pay K-Var for the guns and then have our FFL send a copy of his license. Is that correct?

Finally, thank you to those of you who have made the effort to put this together!

I am still waiting to hear back from the K-Var rep, but my supposition is that the ordering process is like it is for any other gun you purchase 'remotely': you can order and pay for the rifle(s) yourself, but K-Var will only ship once they receive a copy of your dealer's FFL.

Okay, I just got off the phone with Elliott.

For the most part, the LH Zastava will cost $50 more than the RH version.
The double-trigger versions will cost $10 more than the single-trigger versions.

E.g.,

The M85 with single trigger will be $539.
The M85 with single trigger will be $549.

NOTE: The .22-250 is available in both the M85 and M70. Be specific when ordering.

An M70 with single trigger in 6.5x55 will be $589.

An M70 with single trigger in 9.3x62, .375H&H, or .458 Win. Mag. will be $839.

Delivery time will be 90 days from when he has everyone's deposits. If you miss the cut this time, just wait for the next order.

Please contact Elliott directly at 702-364-8880 extension 1, during normal business hours (it is Pacific Standard Time here).

He will tell you how much of a deposit is required and where your dealer's FFL must be sent. No one else will be collecting money for this deal; if someone tells you differently, they're lying.

Time to shit or get off the pot, boys! Big Grin
