Guys, I did this croc/hippo hunt with Walter last year, it was AWESOME! Huge crocs, tons of hippo, great camp, great staff, and to my suprise, the croc hunting was some of the favorite hunting I have ever done. Walter, the lion/croc combo looks like a steal, is this the same hunt you told me about in January?

Brad, it is the area just next too that, I have been negotiatig and consolidating and end of all this would hopefully end up being a consession +/- 2.5 million acres in extent

This plce is going too rock your socks off, it has been slow in the process, and will take another few years,

But gents this is going too be the place too have hunted and too stll be hunting,

About 180 Miles of Cahorra Frontage,in total will be Hunted and Managed by Kwan Safaris , eat your heart out country and hard hunting for the Buffalo and Sable,

The tiger fishing is phenominal, 6 good quality fishing boats already in operation !!!! and more too come,

I am busy sourcing flat bottomed alluminum boats from the USA !!

If you can not stand the hard hunting, drop in for the fishing and the beer ???

I am looking forward too seeing a couple of old firends out here this year

And I hope 505 you are one of them again ?

Hey Kwan,
This sounds really cool, will you have this same area for next year? I'm already booked up for this season, however, next year is wide open.

505- did you post a hunt report? if so, would you mind posting link?

For those that haven't hunted Mozambique, it is well worth it. A great variety of game in a completely wild environment......like old Africa.

Walter, I wish I could come this year, but no way. Someone waved a lion hunt hunt in my face that I couldn't pass up last week (you are partly to blame for this). I do dream about coming again and spending 7-10 days searching for a MONSTER croc (preferably w/teeth), maybe next year. Guys, I am not lying, if you have ever wanted to shoot a big croc, this is the guy to do it with.

Walter,
You've mentioned "hard hunting" a couple of times. I'm not sure how to interpret the use of that term. Do you mean you put forth a full effort, the terrain is difficult, or you have to hunt very hard as there aren't many animals, or what?

Hello All

The areas are large too the extent of being massive, that creates the Hard Hunting, you will be walking lots of miles !!!

When I started in Cahorra Bassa area 4 years ago, we averaged 20 miles a day !!! after buffalo,

As time went by, we learned the hard way,

We walked over 600 miles in 2007, and came too the conclusion, THIS IS AS HARD AS YOU WILL EVER HUNT,

Were we sucessfull, yes, but not in the percentages that I wanted it too be, that is why I have not sold a buffalo hunt on Sable Hills in two seasons,

So now we have acquired the hunting rights too these neighbouring areas, Yes I know there are hobo Crocodile and Hippo, many Leopard and good Lion

How, cause a good friend and one my PH's hunted there and shot a great leopard and lion with clients, not mine unfortunately so I can not show any pictures,

I have flown the area, it is wild country, the resident PH has found Buffalo, Sable and Roan, as well as Kudu,Impala and other small game species, as well as a good couple of elephant, due too ti being so remote and inacessible, the chances of running into good trophies are very good.

There it is ladies and gents, the no BS , it is wild , undeveloped, and something most of you have been shouting for, Unspoilt Africa

Are there any quarantees ? No, but I will stake my name on the Hippo and Croc, sure as hell if you can shoot , you will get your trophy

The Leopard, they are there, an they are leopard, not tied too trees so if baited hunt is your choice, let's have ago at it

If dogs are your forte, add USD 5000 too the package and I will fly the dogs in!!!

Lion are heard and sign found everyday, the price makes the chances favorable !!!

In the Packages all trophy fees are included, and if you do not get your trophy

I WILL REFUND YOU THE TROPHY FEE, LESS THE GOVERNMENT LICENSE FEE !!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

That would be the South shore rather than the North shore of Cahorra Bassa?

Mike

Legistine actu? Quid scripsi?

Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue.

What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

They might be included, what we do not know how much each one is?

This could create a problem if he has to refund any trophy fee for an animal that has not been shot.

Kwan,

Please post the trophy fees.
