Well, I just hope everyone is happy and well-rested when I'm ready to head out in 106 days (but who's counting?) If that happened on my flight, well, it would be a good thing the rifles are in checked baggage.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

There is something about the black African culture or mentality that I'm just starting to grasp. They seem to have a child-like sense of entitlement. This is complicated by a near total lack of understanding of the purpose of laws and rules. This comment will probably cause some eyerolling by the Africans here. Sorry. Anyway, I can't imagine this sort of thing happening ten years ago when at least half of the SAA cabin crews were white Africans.

I leave in about 58 days and if they pull that crap when I am there it is not the safety of the passengers they need to worry about it will be the safety of the crew.

I just got in yesterday after taking the 5:50 p.m. Jo-burg SAA flight to Dulles via Dakar. For what it is worth the crews (changed at Dakar) and captains were wonderful. Wish I could say the same for the coach class seats, but compared to some of the other carriers I used, the seats were the same affair.

I agree with Bill, as the SAA crews this year were the best I have seen in a long time.

welcome to the new South Africa- it isn't racist when it is the truth. 10 plus years ago when i first started hunting in southern Africa, SAA was a first rate airline. now i do everything in power to avoid it.

Seems to me, in Jo'berg and Capetown International airports, everything that isn't screwed up intentionally, is screwed up through incompetence/ignorance. But perhaps I'm being too generous.
