RIP, it is quite complicated, actually.

You must in any given fashion you choose declare, "I am a member of the DRSS!" and then add "DRSS" to your signature line on any given internet forum and you're in.

We're an esteemed bunch, in our own minds. Welcome aboard!

The Alaska chapter has informal shoots each year in the warm months. However, we lead the country in our inclusion policies: we follow Affirmative Action and allow a quota of single barrel firearms to shoot also. One member can't shoot more than other member and all rifles must be covered in camo tape so as not to show off a Holland Royal next to a Sabatti.
We are a warm and fuzzy group and welcome all and may add a sub chapter for our GLBT shooters!

The DRSS, Double Rifle Shooters Society is an eclectic diverse group of people who own, like and advocate the use of, double rifles.

We do not have meetings, there are no dues. There is no rank or privilege within the DRSS, we are all as equals. Brothers. Ownership of a double rifle is not required to be a member of the DRSS.

Our requirements are as follows-

We expect our members to conduct themselves in a manner befitting his brothers in the DRSS.

When joining in a DRSS sponsored hunt, everyone pays their own way/share. There are no specials for the person(s) organizing the hunt.
At these events we expect you to be of good humor and enjoy the hunt and fellowship!

Only other thing you can do and this is not a requirement, is to add DRSS to your Signature on AR.

I hope this answers your question about the DRSS.

Kindest regards,

Rusty

I would be interested in a New Mexico Chapter being brought to light. Any hog hunts that are available to members in next door Texas would be a welcome endeavor as well to attend. Do I need to always add "trash" next to my Sabatti when signing off?? Cool It seems like all I need to do is add DRSS and I am in? Please advise if any other requirements are needed.

OK, jokes about rank within the DRSS aside, thank you Rusty, there is rank between the various Shooters' Societies, with DRSS at the very top. tu2

Of course the flintlock, percussion, and pinfire guns are naturally included in the DRSS and SSSS augustness.
However, I thought of something that ranks lower than BATSS, and hereby claim membership there too: "Lever Action Shooters' Society," or "LASS."

But so as to not cast aspersions on LASS, BATSS is taking out the "Trash." It is now BASS.
This will all be made official at the First Annual SS Convention, where the Shooters' Societies shall convene,
wearing thinking caps to codify bylaws of the Convention of Riflecranks Internationale Permanente: CRIP

The Big Five:

1. DRSS: Halo, Pith Helmet optional.
2. SSSS: Coonskin Cap.
3. BASS: Baseball Cap.
4. LASS: Cowboy Hat.
5. SLSS: Army Helmet.

Yes, last but not least, the "SLSS." The "Self Loader Shooters' Society" includes semi-auto and full-auto.

LASS and SLSS are memberships of honor higher than "Blaser Shooters" which are such low-lifes they are incapable of forming a society of their own.
They don't mingle well with any other group, despite any BS, PC inclusiveness policies.

Blaser Shooter's wear propeller beanies, anytime, just for fun.

DRSS Speedo model here. I am willing for a small fee to have your rifle photographed with me holding it while rocking a Speedo. These photos once developed and framed should be displayed in your trophy room or living room as you see fit. As shootaway says I am the beef cake of the shooting world. And when shootaway makes a comment like that it means something!!

Here is a little sneak preview of what to expect!
