Well, I have to step in in defense of our favorite Hooker. ( that's really his last name)

He was at my shop over the weekend to pick up his Mossberg equivelent .458 with the new ghost ring. He shot it well, he claimed better than ever with the new sight. The real kicker is, I have a 7X57R single shot in the white at the shop. I have the quarter rib on it and the front sight base, but no sights on it. Ole Hook put two rounds on Wilbur ( my steel hog siloughet) at 230 yds by just sighting down the barrel with a fence post for a rest. He shot it better than I did, I missed.

Maybe sights mess him up....

it's easy to shot well when you have a rifle of that quality in your hands. the singles that bailey builds are wonderful and his doubles are even better.

This house hunting lark is a right, royal PITA but we're getting there...... we're still very keen on this 1734 riverside cottage renovation I told you about but we need to be ultra careful about what we will and won't be allowed to do before we buy...... The river (Alge... pronounced Alg) is one of the most protected and clean rivers in the entire country....... consequently several meetings with planning and conservation depts are needed.

If we had even a bit more money to spend it'd be a lot easier but as we're sailing close to the wind on budget for this property, we need to be VERY careful before we commit.

The good news is that if we can pull it off, we'd end up with a little bit of paradise that'll knock your socks off when you see it. tu2

Figured I would crawl out from under the rock and post a few pics of Larry's rilfe action.

There are a LOT of metal chips under my engraving bench after carving this Ele. The background is close to 1/16" deep. 22K gold border and lots of English scroll. My favorite sculpted scroll work on the fences. Lion on a buffalo will be on the other side.

Made it in about 4 in the afternoon, got setup showed the rifles to a few folks and went to the hotel. My booth is 2530, my sincerest apologies for not being there on time.
