Very happy to see you all had a successful season.

Love the great pictures, except those blanked out faces.

It is bloody awful to see these!

Why not take pictures without those objecting to being shown!

Besides looking so bad, it gives the impression those involved are ashamed of what they have done!

Do I understand it right, Chirisa and Sengwa will be managed as one area. Having hunted both areas, Chirisa can be one of the best concessions in Zim. but it will take great management and a lot of anti poaching to keep all the people out plus time. With what the Duckworths have done with Sengwa, it is a great area now. It's encouraging to see LONG term plans being put into practice.

Nice Buzz! tu2 Do I understand your report correctly when you indicate that two lions were taken in Dande, but only one recovered? Saeed: I also concur in your comments. Post it with the animal only, the animal and the PH or the animal and the hunter-with their face. Just my opinion as well, and I think it then would take away that automatic 'guilt' feeling or impression of embarrassment that you naturally feel or get by posting or seeing pics of trophies and the hunter with their face blocked out.

Great to see you bounce back so strongly after the horrors of Covid. Looks like you're currently going from strength to strength with the new areas. I'll bet they thrive under your care. Really looking forward to 2023 when I touch Zim soil again. All the best.

Funny thing is even non hunters keep asking me why are these faces blanked out!

Utterly stupid really.

Post pictures which don’t include these guys.

First thing one picks when looking at these pictures is the hiding face.

If their faces were not blanked out, we would not notice it.

Having them obscured, makes the faces an immediate target to look it.

And it ain't a pretty sight, not from a hunters point of view.

It screams I AM ASHAMED OF WHAT I HAVE DONE!

Frankly, it is disgusting to see.

Just wondering now.

As at least two members whose faces have blurred have come and said they have no objection in showing themselves.

Did whoever edited the photos take it upon himself to blur everyone??

That is even worse than I originally thought!

Saeed- we decided after a former client lost a job due to being "exposed" with an elephant picture that he hunted with us that we would blur ALL faces on all our "public posts" as we do not ever want this to happen to anyone else again.

Unfortunately for me now two incidents have occurred that will now put an end to my posting.

Firstly a purely Xmas newsletter with some great news for fellow hunters has been totally hijacked.

Secondly, a hunter who comes in misses a buff and calls his hunt off early - at the time happily accepts a flight paid for by myself for him and his wife to go to the falls and then comes back and publically questions my integrity and gets an audience.

The fact that we have literally guided hundreds of extremely happy AR clients for 20 years odd seems to have no bearing whats so ever!

Maybe I am getting old but I am at the point where I don't need the above BS. Unfortunately, it seems that many have gone the same way- Kevin Robertson, Harry Selby (unfortunately not with us anymore) Richard Harland, and Craig Boddington to name but a few.

What a huge loss to the AR community their leaving was. While I certainly do not ever begin to think that I am in the same league as the above-mentioned esteemed gentlemen, I would like to have thought with 22 years of 170-day dangerous game seasons behind me that I could have and have helped a number of newbies to Africa from this site.

I will follow the AR as I have many many friends on here and I love seeing the different hunts that they do but as of today, I am taking a sabbatical from posting. I wish you all a happy Christmas and new year! All the best Buzz

Buzz,

I am sorry to hear this.

AR is not responsible for your actions, or others, that get a response from others.

If you really feel that due to some negative actions from your company - charging non refundable trophy fees in advance, and blurring everyone’s faces because one individual had a problem, and then blame the response of other hunters on AR, I wish yiu all the best.

Charging non refundable trophy fees is an absolutely deal breaker for me, and I guess for many others.

All this tells a client is that he is untrustworthy!

I know, you have stated that got burned by ONE previous client, and then you went ahead with your new policy to punish everyone else!

Then you post pictures with blurred faces, when I and others objected to this, you are telling me you have had enough of AR??

How very sad!

You have had many clients from AR.

You have provided great services to them before.

And then you get your knickers in the twist because others object to your new policies??

I will tell you something.

You will most definitely NOT get many clients if you keep on demanding UNREFUNDABLE trophy fees.

Something else too.

In all my years of hunting, I have NEVER been asked to pay ANY trophy fees in advance.

But, the people I deal with treat their clients with RESPECT!

Not as untrustworthy crooks!

We as PHs need to apologize for our inconsistencies. We all screw up now and again and will endeavor to make it right. If a hunter here feels I have done wrong then so be it but I would never challenge him or her on a forum.

As most here know, I am the hunter about whom you say dismissively "comes in misses a buff and calls his hunt off early - at the time happily accepts a flight paid for by myself for him and his wife to go to the falls and then comes back and publically questions my integrity and gets an audience."

Please allow me to respond. I will be brief.

You totally misrepresented your hunt to me (as I found out after the fact), put me in the obviously worst (as I later learned) of your concessions and at the then worst (as I now know) time of year.

But you expected me not to report the truth of these events and attacked me when I did.

Then you tried to bait and switch other hunters by attempting to change the rules and pre-charge them for trophy fees before the hunt had even taken place!

As though they are criminals, as opposed to suckers, which I clearly was.

But thankfully you were shamed here on AR into reversing that outrageous policy.

For those who want the unvarnished and whole truth, and nothing but the truth, of what happened regarding these matters, including the "missed" shot, taken under pressure, most self-imposed, at a brown blur, please see below:

ZIMBABWE HUNT REPORT - 2022

CMS NYAKASANGA 2022-2032 PRICING

Finally, as you well know, but have sidestepped in your snide remarks, after all of this became clear to me, I refunded to you 100% of the cost of the plane tickets to the falls, payment for which I had originally thought was a nice gesture on your part, rather than hush money.

I trust that you will use these funds to pay for some sadly lacking anti-poaching efforts in Dande East.

There was zero evidence of any anti-poaching activity during the nine days we hunted there.

Zero. Not a single anti-poaching patrol was active, and the animals were in a state of nervous breakdown, having clearly been hammered by poachers without mercy for God knows how long.

As I have reported, we saw clear signs of steel snare wounds on the hooves of two of the always skittish bulls we tracked over many hours for nine, not six, long days.

What is sad about this is that you could clearly have done better, but that you made deliberate decisions not to do so.

You have no one to blame for that but yourself. Not me and certainly not AR.

I will restrain myself and say that we are just going to have to disagree.

No spin; just facts.

I have owned calling it quits on this hunt. Never have I said otherwise. It was my decision and in my view a good one.

But you are mistaken if you think lack of success is even close to being the issue here.

I think anyone who knows me - unlike you, I am increasingly happy to say - fully understands that.

I have killed my share of buffalo and am not desperate to kill more.

The issue here is dishonesty. It is that simple. Period.

Dozens and dozens of successful and satisfied CMS clients, many of whom are repeat clients and many of whom have had successful hunts in Dande East, would strongly suggest that your claims of dishonesty on the part of the outfitter have more to do with someone whining over an unsuccessful hunt that they threw in the towel on than it does with any credible assertion of dishonesty. I think the reputation of CMS is pretty secure at this point, yours not so much. Shame on you.

Very true Andrew.

We all make mistakes, no doubt about that.

But, we should face up to them.

Not blame others for them.

Buzz, here is a word of advice.

Whoever had that fantastic, business killing idea, of charging clients nonrefundable trophy fees in advance should be shown the door!

That is one of the most stupid, unacceptable, condition put on a client.

As I have mentioned before, not in a million years would I accept that sort of condition.

And frankly, if I see that on an outfitters website, he will never see me again looking at it!

Again with the "unsuccessful" and "whining" nonsense.

Are you being paid by the word or by the hour? In either event, you are gouging your client.

My report and conduct in this matter speak for themselves.

I am happy to allow the "audience," which the outfitter seems so much to resent, to make up their own minds.
