Kathi at Wild Travel set up my plane flights. There were many problems with Delta but she was a great help and it was tough going. Missed flights due to plane malfunctions, lost luggage, customs, etc. Kathi was on the phone with me constantly and worked very hard to get me there with my gear. She was a great help and I recommend her to anyone traveling anywhere! Thanks Kathi!!! SAA was a great airline!
I Hunted with Dirk for 11 days. It was my first African hunt. I would not change anything about my time with them. Dirk is a great guy and knowledgable PH. I took nicer trophies than I had expected or hoped for. We saw plenty of game. There were interesting things everywhere we went. The country was quite good for seeing game and stalking.
Rita went all out on details to make the lodge perfect. A different dinner table theme each night and wonderful food. She keeps the place well organized and very comfortable.
The staff kept the place in great shape. They worked hard at their jobs and it was very much appreciated. I highly recommend Okanduka Siebe to anyone looking for a first class Namibian experience.

Yes it is a Puff Adder. I guess it was still early for many snakes.
I flew from Idaho Falls where I live then had to land 20 minutes later due to flap malfunction. That delay(1.5hrs) made me late for all future flights. I arrived in Dulles at 1:30am with rifles but NO baggage(ammo- 7mag&375hh). Kathi really helped in this situation rebooking me on connecting flights and later finding my lost bag(it arrived in camp 3 days late). Dirk loaned me Blaser 338 which I shot 3 animals with. When I received my ammo I used my Browning Safari 7mm for all other animals.

Looks like you had a good hunt. Your Eland sure looks nice! Bird hunting is always a nice addition to a hunt.
Dirk and Rita are very nice honest people and I think for the money they offer one of the best plains game hunts in all of Africa .
Huge remote ranch, trophy quality second to none, honest hard working people, good food and reasonable prices!
It's little wonder they are booked two years in advance!

dukxdog sorry about the wife, I think a buffalo hunt is one of the best ways to get over hard times. Keep your head up and enjoy life !

Wow, Dukx:
Very fine animals. I'm impressed by the eland, too. I'm working with Kathi on a trip, and look forward to her help.
Very sorry to hear about the surprise when you got home. Hope no children are involved, as that makes it hurt a LOT more. Been there, done that.

Bobby,

For crying out loud what a story. Glad you had a good safari in Namibia. We'll hope your arrival home next year after hunting with us is a little less traumatic.

While many may read your tale of woe about your wife up and out. There are also many of us whom are envious as hell of your renewed freedom.
Here's a bit of advice my father gave me when my first wife went on the lam with the guy she was banging at the time, " go out and scrape your horn then go collect some horn. You'll feel like a new man an wonder why you didn't think of that sooner!! " Know what he was right.

That's a tough trip Duk. I used to live in IF 20 years ago (Navy) I'll bet it's changed a bit since then.

I wonder, maybe if I move my Africa trip up from '08 to '07 Wifezilla will leave?

I am sorry you had to go through that when you returned. I am sure you are better off for it. I was in Tanzania this year and a buff hunt will cure you for sure.. Good Luck and keep your head up!!
