SGraves155Congrats on some really fine antelope!!
Is that a puff adder? Tell us some more.
17 November 2006, 10:44
dukxdogYes it is a Puff Adder. I guess it was still early for many snakes.
I flew from Idaho Falls where I live then had to land 20 minutes later due to flap malfunction. That delay(1.5hrs) made me late for all future flights. I arrived in Dulles at 1:30am with rifles but NO baggage(ammo- 7mag&375hh). Kathi really helped in this situation rebooking me on connecting flights and later finding my lost bag(it arrived in camp 3 days late). Dirk loaned me Blaser 338 which I shot 3 animals with. When I received my ammo I used my Browning Safari 7mm for all other animals.

Looks like you had a good hunt. Your Eland sure looks nice! Bird hunting is always a nice addition to a hunt.
Dirk and Rita are very nice honest people and I think for the money they offer one of the best plains game hunts in all of Africa .
Huge remote ranch, trophy quality second to none, honest hard working people, good food and reasonable prices!
It's little wonder they are booked two years in advance!
dukxdog sorry about the wife, I think a buffalo hunt is one of the best ways to get over hard times. Keep your head up and enjoy life !

Bill/OregonWow, Dukx:
Very fine animals. I'm impressed by the eland, too. I'm working with Kathi on a trip, and look forward to her help.
Very sorry to hear about the surprise when you got home. Hope no children are involved, as that makes it hurt a LOT more. Been there, done that.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

MARK H. YOUNGBobby,
For crying out loud what a story. Glad you had a good safari in Namibia. We'll hope your arrival home next year after hunting with us is a little less traumatic.

I agree with Robert. Book a buffalo hunt with Dylan Cloete of Zuka Africa. Not only will you get great buffalos, I guaran-damn-tee you wont' think about the ex for a minute (except maybe when you pull the trigger

) .

ALP#4While many may read your tale of woe about your wife up and out. There are also many of us whom are envious as hell of your renewed freedom.
Here's a bit of advice my father gave me when my first wife went on the lam with the guy she was banging at the time, " go out and scrape your horn then go collect some horn. You'll feel like a new man an wonder why you didn't think of that sooner!! " Know what he was right.

FjoldThat's a tough trip Duk. I used to live in IF 20 years ago (Navy) I'll bet it's changed a bit since then.
I wonder, maybe if I move my Africa trip up from '08 to '07 Wifezilla will leave?

TJI wouldn't fret to much duk. Sounds like you got a good deal. One woman traded for a hell of a safari. I'd trade my old woman for one.
