I understand why members are loathe to post hunt reports but, man, I miss them! As a displaced Zimbabwean, I looked forward each year to catching up on news of ex colleagues and seeing how areas I worked in are faring.

I used to feel I knew members here, none of whom I have met, through each and every one of their reports. Frequent reporters such as Bill C, Safari lawyer, Anne, Todd Williams, Judge G, Anton and even the ever riveting Shootaway, are just some amongst all of you that kept me attached, in a small way to the places my heart really lies.

Of course our gracious host's annual trips back with Roy and Rene make up for some of the missing reports but, as ya'll might say, "Dang! I miss them".

Cheers.

My wife and I will be leaving August 21st. for another hunt with Mokore. Buffalo in the Save with Doug, we will be doing a hunt report shortly thereafter. I know, no great earth shattering event but I will try to do a good report.

Fret not, I have 3 reports ready to post - Alaska, Austria, Uganda. Am in Tanzania now so I will have a fourth.

Also, if the world takes objection to the reports, I will go “baba yaga” on them.

See the John Wick movies for what that term means. Hint - it is Russian...

.

Big Toms, I fully agree. I commented on this earlier in the year.

Sadly a sign of the times, very sadly. And if hunters can't / won't post here - an all out hunting site - then it would seem to me that the point of no return is close if not already there!

Ross, look forward to your reports! Is that all 2019 ?? shocker

Two hunts coming up but they are both here in Alaska. Will likely put up short reports in the Alaska Forum.

Cheers

Bama15,

I am truly envious, Nyae Myae Conservancy is on my bucket list!
Hope you get an ancient tusker. Who has that conservancy at the moment?
I agree with everyone, I miss reading the hunt reports as well. I have
somewhat changed my focus to international bird shooting (Spain, Scotland,
Argentina,...) from big game hunting in Africa, but I'm sure I will revisit
Africa in the future! Going to Morocco in March, 2020 for bird shooting
so will post that on the Bird Shooting forum?

Ross have always found your reports to be a fine mixture of hunt experience and educational. You and your family seem give a lot back to the communities in which you hunt. Cheers.

Will post a report when I get time as well.

Stephan Jacobs has it now. Has had it since Decker gave it up and has improved the camp and facilities tremendously.

I've not posted one since 2012, and I sometimes think about doing a "catch up report". It would be a doozy - Zimbabwe, Zambia, RSA, Cameroon Savannah, Cameroon Forest, Ethiopia, Uganda, Masailand Tanzania, and Mauritius - just last week.

It takes a lot of time to create and post a proper hunt report. That's my main problem at this point. Also, having abandoned laptops and PCs for handhelds and tablets makes typing and uploading photos very cumbersome.

You'll get no argument from me that it takes time to write a hunt report. But uploading photos is very easy and fast with postimage.org. As "proof", here's me doing it in just over 60 seconds, while I'm talking.

This is the photo I uploaded.

Further explanation of how to use postimage.org to post photos on these forums is here.

I've also posted a summary of different ways to upload photos here with links to explanations like the one above.

Hunters eat their own........

The number one reason members don't bother to post many pictures or reports here any longer.

There is no reason to upload a bunch of pictures then arrange the links within a story that took your time to put on this screen only to have some jackass pick your report appart and judge your method of hunting or the location of the hunt.

I was directed to AR by an acquaintance after discussing a possible hunt in Africa with my wife. He suggested reading the reports and suchlike to keep abreast of the current goings-on (given the _dynamic_ nature of the continent's politics & security) and to get a measure of some of the hunting outfits. Sad that so many have been dissuaded from making reports. I have made reports of my outings so others could find it of use on other forums, where the response is almost universally positive. Also, I have been fortunate in that most of the outfits I have hunted with have been great folks. Good folks deserve a good word.

"Sadly a sign of the times, very sadly. And if hunters can't / won't post here - an all out hunting site - then it would seem to me that the point of no return is close if not already there!"

Is the reason internal or external of AR--like what happened to the dentist from Minnesota after he hunted a lion?
