Wood isn't too impressive for a Super Lux.

Buy that super lux if it's what you want.

Westley Richards is in a whole different level of clientel. I guess we will see what happens.

I guess, as a retired working-man, I'm a bit too thrifty with my $$$ to be a client of WR, especially with a little effort shopping around I can save enough for round-trip airfare to Africa and the trophy fee for a kudu.

Here's a view of the butt-stock on the Super Luxus........

and here's the other side. Shame it's not in better focus.

Can you get 45 Blaser Barrels AND ammo to Aleko?
If I had a 45 Blaser THAT would be my choice for my Idaho, and Canada lack bear hunt over bait.

NE 450 No2 --- have you seen the short safari barrel for the 375 H&H? If you loaded the 375 H&H down to about 2350-2400 fps with the 300gr Nosler Partition I bet it would make a dandy and very handy rifle for sitting over a bait.

I have to get back to Europe see what they cost. I am going to sell each barrel with 100 rounds of Blaser Brass.

You will have to work dies on your own through Huntingtons.

The price for the whole thing is probably going to be ten $100 bils.

I will let you know when I get it all worked out.

DBBill when I said that Westley Richards and Co was in a entirely different level of sales I didn't mean that you weren't there. It wasn't mean to sound offensive.

Westley could sell a M700 ADL Synthetic for $1000. Some asshole would buy it and tell everyone how it was his Westley Richards Rifle!

I know a guy that bought a Pre-64 M70 375 from Westley Richards and he calls it his WR Rifle!

I have a 19 3/4" Tracker barrel in 308 and 375 H&H. The 375 Tracker is what I will be using on my bear hunt. They are of the standard contour.

D99 see if you can get the 45 Blaser bbl in the Tracker model. It is 19 3/4" [50cm] with iron sights.[Plastic sights actually].

A steady source of factory ammo and brass needs to be confirmed as I do not think you can make that casse from anything else.
Also the 45 Blaser barrel is a semi-weight. It will not fit in the standard reciever barrel channel. In Europe they have severak barrels offered in semi-weight and a froearm to go with them. You could use the Safari forearm/Safari synthetic stock.

We just need to get the Blaser people to import the 45 Blaser and ammo to the USA. I think it would sell well here.

I found these threads interesting reading for the reason that if we want the manufacturer's to listen to us, we the shooting/hunting public we need to let them know our desires. ALL my e-mail queries to Blaser have been answered. While the answer itself may not have been the one I wanted to hear - I still let them know what I wanted and they responded.

Here is the link to Blaser's contact page on their website.

http://www.blaser.de/english/feedback/contact.htm

Please let THEM know of your caliber desires.

As for .45 Blaser brass - my expereince with the RELOADED .45 Blaser ammo I've have seen here in Germany from persons who normally show up with repsectable performing and appearing reloaded ammo are having difficulty with it! Split necks and case length (stretching) problems are the comments I most often receive from folks who are reloading this catridge!

500 I didn't see it listed on the Horneber website. I know Wolfgang Romey makes all Blaser ammo. That's why all blaser ammo is E50 a box or more.

I am not sure if WR makes the brass or orders it from another agent.

Let's all email Blaser with our wants and wishes! Start a little email campaign!

I know Wolfgang Romey makes all Blaser ammo.

Nitpicking alert: actually Blaser has ammo made pretty much all over the place:
- RUAG makes the CDP loaded ammo
- Norma loads the WSM calibers
- Romey loads (at least) the .45 Blaser stuff
- who knows what else from where??

Try asking Darren at Blaser, if there is anywhere to get .45 Blaser cases? He is a gem in terms of helping: darren.hull@blaser.de

Blaser has Norma make all the brass, is my understanding. Then the loading is sent out to RUAG, Norma, and Romney

Via email Blaser said, "Vee are not planning to introduce a 458 Lott."

Will someone else please email them and ask when they are planning to introduce a CRF version of the Blaser with a regular safety?

D99

I'm not surprised it's loud! 243 is a surprisingly loud cartridge and the little K95 despite having a 24" barrel has no action so the muzzle blast ends up being closer to your ear.

My K95 wears a 26" 6.5x57R - the extra 2" worked out VERY expensive but it was worth the extra cash for the reduced blast.

16 x $800 = $12,800, which would cover a nice cape buffalo/plains game hunt, or a grizzly/moose hunt.

The 338 barrel is a shooter. Anyone have any experience with putting a recoil pad on the Professional stocks? Not as much as my Remington M700 Custom shop that I traded the Professional for.

Actually a lot of stuff went into that trade.

Johan your right I need a 8x68, maybe get it instead of the 8x64. 8x64 is 8mm-06-ish (well kind of) for those of you metrically challenged!

I have had recoil pads put on both my synthetic Blaser stocks (not Professional). Cut stock to length desired (incl thickness of pad). Fit and epoxy in hardwood dowels in upper and lower "edges" of the stock, drill, install patch. I have used Pachmayer Decelerators thus far. Before mounting the pad, I have had the the inside of the stock foam filled - precludes the use of a recoil reducer, but that has not been a problem for me.

I don't think Blaser currently chambers for the 8x64S, sadly. That would be a great caliber.

Mike,

The 8x64 S barrel is listed in the 2004 cattledog.

I was thinking about buying a recoil reducer, but think that E200 or $200 for one is BS. What size is it. Break-O makes a bunch of different sizes. The price is $60 cheaper in the states.

Thanks Mike for the information on how to make it work.

Epoxy is a miracle cure for everything. Cures cough, cold, runny nose, freckles, warts, guaranteed not to rip run or snag!

Might be interested in one myself

I have ordered an 8 x 68 for my R93, it should be here any day! I think any of the 8mm bores are a great idea in the R 93. I have become such a fan of rail mounts for my Blaser that I have been upgrading my exsisting guns as opposed to adding cals.

I think that rail mounted scopes look cool on a blaser. If only they would fix that safety and make it CRF... Smiler

1894MK2,

I am in Wyoming on vacation and haven't tried anything but factory in the 338 or the 243. The parents just bought a new place and it isn't set up for loading yet.

243 K95 is probably a .75-1.25 gun with most factory stuff. Maybe do better with some handloads.

338 R93 is a 1-2.0 gun with Factory Remington 250 and 225 PSP.

Twist don't know get on the Blaser sight and look there. It will probably be metric and hard to figure out.
