31 bertramBeing an old Boat Capt. I always liked Robert Shaw aka Quint in the movie Jaws. Although I don't think he played in many movies, The other Movie that comes to mind was "The Deep"with Nick Noltie and Jaquline Bisset.
One other old capt. was Gilbert Rolland in "Thunder Bay" and "Beneth the 12 Mile Reef" (Gotta love those Pleated Pants). Probably a few years past you guys bed time. he he.

trophyhunter5000I prefer Anti-hero's to conventional types...
If their not flawed somehow then I just can't relate to a character...
My all time favorite Anti-hero...
Bruce Campbell as Ash in the Evil Dead series......
Favorite line from Army of Darkness:
"Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun."

WinkComic strip hero Sarge Rock (of Sarge Rock and His Howling Commandos). I still remember one strip in which he gets shot in the back with one of the Japanese Nambu pistols and remarks,"This is going to hurt for a week!"

BulldogMasterDoc Savage - a series of action novels written in the 1930's and 1940's by Kenneth Roberson were my all time favorites. He was smart, strong, fair and had a group of guys with him that did amazing things.
