My dealer's Ruger distributor has lots of them. They are out of the African model, however. If your dealer calls Ruger, they will tell him which distributor to contact. I did that and got the #1 9.3x74 I wanted.

The Ruger Hawkeye 375 Alaskan's are selling up here, and fast. At the local gun shops around me, the rifles last less than a day in the store before they're sold.

I was visiting one store today and four different people came in asking about them. All four of them paid in advance for one without even getting the chance to look one over and handle it.

I'll wait until the 'storm' passes before I take a crack at one. I'm going to buy dies and brass before I get the rifle, anyways.

Not sure if it's the Alaskan model but Phil Shoemaker apparently has one.

As of today I have two of them. An African and an Alaskan and I plan on hunting with them starting next week.
Chimo guns is Wasilla has sold both the Alaskan and African models.
I fired the new Hornady steel jacket 300 gr solids last week in the 20 inch bbl Alaskan and they averaged 2527fps 25 feet from the muzzle.
Both rifles are the slickest feeding factory rifles I have ever seen and are better than a lot of expensive custom guns.

The one I have is the diamondback and I am told that is the way they are planning to offer them.

The Ruger web-site now shows the stainless version of the Alaskan in addition to the diamond-back version. Unless I've been had, I just bought one of the stainless "Alaskan" versions on gunbroker.com. Talk about sheer dumb luck! I will obviously post updates when it arrives (and keep my fingers crossed in the meantime).

FYI, Natchez shooting supply, www.natchezss.com, has 375 Ruger dies, brass, and ammo in case anyone is in need.

I have handled it.

It feels like at gun that is wrapped in a Rubbermade condom.

I don't know where I came up with that analogy but it is 11:33 at night and I have been drinking.
