I'm happy to see that .375 Ruger commercial ammo is no longer a single-manufacturer option. DoubleTap, and now Nosler, it appears, produce loads. GREAT for those of us who don't roll their own...

As for the poularity of the .375 H&H, as Mark Young stated, "it screams 'Africa'". The venerable history and tradition of the .375 H&H (and many other things) become more important as we all grow older. I am , of course, speaking in generalities, but CHANGE in general is not usually readily embraced by older guys...of which i"m one. But, dang, I like the .375 Ruger in my (traditional) lever rifle!

I have a BLR in .300 Win Mag. re-barelled to .375 Ruger. Its "traditional" in that its a lever gun. Its shoots & handles superbly. The .375 Ruger allows for rebarreling options that the H&H round can't accomodate...

The BLR is a "traditional" lever gun.....Alrighty then. The BLR is about as traditional a lever gun as plastic is traditional wood.

Would you like to buy a traditional bridge on some traditional ocean front property in Arizona?

Did you epoxy-bed your new stock, or the old one, for that matter? Be sure and keep the action screws tight, it sounds like you might be getting the slightest bit of movement.

The old stock was glass bedded with Acra-glass and that didn't help at all. One the new stock, I just dropped it in took it to the range.

I guess I just have to differ about the .300wm replacing the .300H&H. I have owned many H&H's, and will never personally own a WinMag. Why own a .300mag that's limited to 180gr bullets like the .300WM. Yes, I know some who have figured out how to get 200grainers in there, but it pushes the limits.

I like 200 and even 220's out of the .300 H&H. If you want to use just 180gr, might as well use a .30-06 and add a little velocity.

The .300 H&H is a handloaders dream. It will never be supplanted by the WM as long as there are truly knowledgeable riflemen out there. Not to mention that the .300H&H is still the slickest feeding and probably the most reliable feeding cartridge of all time.

As for the .375 Ruger, who knows? Maybe it will last many decades with success. There's always room for inexpensive production line guns that meet the needs and price point of some hunters. I'm not sure how big that market is for a .375Ruger?

Regardless the success of the .375 Ruger, it will not replace the H&H, and most custom and higher end guns will use the H&H, and folks who have a nostalgic need for the best of Africa, will own a .375 H&H.

I just got into the 375 club,I got 375 b&m,AND LOVE THIS RIFLE,I have afew custom rifles I have a rigby 416 custom rifle and it is very nice, but the 375B&M rifle is lighter shorter and smoother action love it.I have shoot it a few times and the recoil is not bad at all, dead on and handles like a dream I am getting 2750 with a 270 grain and 2600 with a 300 with no problem at all and the presure is below what the rifle can handle, and with this small action it cycles so fast and smooth,am very happy with it,Kev
