Bending rebar into a squared u shape and hammering in the ground then using rope and a carabiner might work well to hang jugs, 2 liters or birthday balloons in plastic shopping bags.

Jeffe and Berit

George came all the way from Canada for the shoot. Please to note that we have properly inducted him into the "Scope Scar of Fame"!
He pitched right in and helped with the timing of the events.

Jack Williams showed up and brought his early California Rigby chambered in 500 NE.

I shot the rifle. It looks, feels great and was very accurate! I was very surprised!
It was not "boxy or Chunky" as the later doubles from Rigby Pasa Robles.

JD Donnelly came from New Orleans and brought a 505 Gibbs.

Anyone care to guess what action the rifle was made on? Need a clue? Everyone has been waiting and cuss'n the slow production? Anyone, Anyone? Bueller?

Thank you, thank you we have a winner! It's a Montana Rifle Co. PH action!

A few of the rifles brought to the shoot!

It is so wonderful to be in the company of such fine folks! Hope to see y'all in October for the next Hoot & Shoot!

What a good time!!!

If you haven't got it get Berit DVD, its great for a long ride. The lady can shot!!!!

I am sorry about the wet paint on the 505 Gibbs/ MRC PH. Jeff did what he could to get it to me quick, and I only had it for 9 days.
Fiber glass stocks takes time to build up and it was a push to get her shoot able for this week end. I was up to midnight last night and up at 6 setting her up to feed. I hope every body got to shoot it who wanted to. Most of you killed your water jugs on the first shot. It was worth the work to watch your expression after the shot. It was like "I survived and dam that was fun" and "no it was not that bad and can I do it again just to make sure"

Kim and I had great time, thanks to all!

It was a Hoot in every sense of the word.

Special thanks to Rusty and the folks at Bayou Rifles. A personal thank you to JD and Jack for allowing me to play with their respective 500 NE's. Jack, my son showed off that shell you gave me to all his friends at his baseball game, the boys were awed by the size of the round.

JD you will be glad to know that I am finally starting to regain feeling in my right arm after the session with the 505. Smiler

Looking forward to October.

Next time we must make a plan! Or I could send them to Jeffe for his approval!

Hoot -- talk and laugh .. its great to see folks grinning and happy after their turns

surprised to see no one in camo? While not required, this is generally an sportsman hunting event .. field shirts are the norm...

but, here I am in urban camo

WOW

BOOM

I brought a friend from south Texas with me this time, Larry Cook. He took first place with a rifle he had never fired before--Rusty's 404J!!! Larry had never shot a bigbore prior to this event. He was most impressed and we talked about it all the way back. I think he'll become a registered member of AR pretty quickly. He is chompin' at the bit to come to the fall show! Larry told me he has not fired a rifle in the offhand position in over 15 years!

This shoot was the best yet. I went to my first by myself-spring 2009. My second I took my girlfriend 3-Oct-09, where I fired the 4 biggest caliber rifles anyone will ever see. This time, my third shoot, I brought a friend who is as enthusiastic as I am.

Berit let me shoot Finn's .375! Knowing its history made my heart pound just holding it for a picture! She also showed me pictures of the last buffalo she took #49!!
I added a few ctgs to my bigbore have shot list:
500 Jeff Thanks MJines. A takedown rifle.
404J Thanks Rusty. I took third place with this rifle I had never before fired.
500NE 3" Thanks Jack. That is a fabulous double.

Mike Jines let me put a couple rounds through his mauser type B in 10.75x68. Excellent shooter.

Shootaway did a superb job with Jeffe's 458Lott RSM. I have never seen a person crank rounds out of one so fast and be so accurate!

Once again a big thank you to Bayou Rifles Gun Club for allowing us to rearrange the mud in your backstop!

A grand time for all that show up.

I have memberships in a couple other shooting organizations, but I have yet to run across a more generous and genuine group as the guys and gals that attend and put together these Hoot-and-Shoot get togethers!

Lets not forget the BBQ! Fantastic!

Looking forward to the fall shoot!

Jeffe, I was wearing camo......shortsSmiler
