.429" solid should be "legal" in the 444 Marlin. Same bullet loaded in a pistol round, = a big no-no.

Although I understand the reg, I do not see what the point is. Any deer hunting rifle will defeat ordinary body armor.

Yah, but isn't that what I said?

I don't know what he meant by "never mind".

FWIW, I don't have a 444 Marlin, was just thinking of gumboot's idea....my 44 Mag would sure be hell on g-bears with a Bear Head Bronze solid. Big Grin

Cheers,
Canuck

You may already know this, but Yukon Delta used Punch bullets on his Zim trip this summer.

Oz Hunter wanted some 300's but that would be VERY long as I told him. A 275 might be the ticket but I will get them worked out shortly if there is enough interest.

I have to make a VERY short run of special low pressure Super Groove-ee bullets for Jeffeosso first. It has grooves from the Meplat all the way to the base and a pressure relief valve through the center just in case he has a really big pressure spike. Big Grin

them's gonna be spendy, are you thinking a 65,000Psi pop-off valve like my old turbo Porsche had? Will it close if pressure drops below that figure?

I can make it if he can pay for it!!

Bubba - "What kind of bullet was that last round out at 300 Jeffe?"

Jeffe - "That was one of them new Pop-Off Penetrator And Over Pressure Safety Bullets - the POPAOPSB".

Bubba - "DANG! but isn't that the name of a French Dog?"

Jeffe - "No that's the PBGB you're thinking about Bubba!"

Bubba - "Are you sure that's not the Para Orbital Pressure Actuated Ogival Pointed Space Bullet I saw on that TV Show - Huntin' Fishin' Chawin' & Jawin' with Billy Bob & Friends??"

Jeffe "Bubba you might be right - could you go out to the 300 target and find that bullet so we can check it?" hillbilly
