A piggyback ride on Craig Boddington's back by 500 Grains ... "ad homo" as it gets ... wheeeeee-wheeeee-wheeeee!!!! ... the sound of 500 Grains squealing with delight.
I guess 500 Grains "got all wee-wee-ed up"
as Obama-speak would have it.
This thread was too good to die. animal

Maybe I should not say anything about this, since this has turned into a pissing contest, but I'll say it anyway. 500 grains I agree with you. But I do read all articles from Craig with great interest anyway. If I want critical articles then local norwegian articles is the best. To bad American writers is pissing scared of loosing funding/payment etc...

Whitworth,
Just so much interest in the .375 WBY lately, that I thought it was worth a review. Wink

No doubt the 375 Wby is a great calibre.

Even satisfies the low velocity enthusiasts like Kevin Robertson who say the 375 H&H is loaded a bit fast by the factories. Fire the H&H ammo in the 375 Wby and drop the 100 f/s

Or load to 375 H&H ballistics and lower pressure.

Or load to the ballistics Saeed uses in his 375/404 Improved.

The flow of the thread is not as good as it was before most of 500grains posts disappeared.

Dan did some serious deleting. But defending 375 H&H against the 375 Wby....at the level Dan tried....would cause you to delete what you had said Big Grin

I think you will find Boddington is like a lot of writers, be it guns, cars or whatever, they only review what is OK. If it is bad they send it back and no write up.

In other words Boddington has seen, sees and will continue to see heaps of products he does not like. But they don't get a write up.

All the BS aside, the 375 Wby is a great caliber. I have one and love it. I just found someone selling off a case of Wby (Norma) brand ammo...I bought 5 boxes for $285 shipped. The other 5 are available, if anyone is interested.

Remember the picture of Dan shooting the lame cow elephant?
Poor cow was just standing there, motionless, with its lame foot off the ground because it was so sore from the poacher's snare wound around the ankle.
Probably about to faint from septic shock.
Dan passed it off as a charging tuskless cow.
It was not.
Good that he finally put it out of its misery after he got the "action pose" resembling a charge.
There he was in the foreground, rifle lined up for a brain shot. The cow in the background had its foot off the ground and was looking at 500 grains.
500 grains' signature picture. Roll Eyes

I never saw him misrepresent the story. Why take pot shots at him when he is not permitted to respond here?

Why not?
The son of a bitch was a blatant liar about many things. Fuck him.

He can't un-ban himself after all this time?

He must be a very bad boy if so.

It's amazing the number of folks in this thread that no longer post on AR.

This includes 500 grains, Atkinson, Digital Dan and several others.

I cannot vouch for Atkinson, Digital Dan, and "several others."
I do know that 500 grains is notoriously dishonest.
He was given free reign to slander me on this forum.
He is a liar for sure.

I think thats a legitimate comment concerning a lot of writes not just CB; in fact I would say that CB is better than many, but I still wonder what his true opinion is sometimes. I suspect Mike hit the nail on the head on how the system works, but I would prefer to see proper constructive crititism from time to time...

Pete,

Perhaps there is criticism when a product is not reviewed or the review does not say much. Perhaps something is said about accuracy along the lines of....."I had only had the xyz factory load at hand etc."

The other thing to perhaps consider is the gun writer will write from a neutral point of view.
