If you start counting below .458", which I think is suspect:

1.) Dakota 76 375H&H
2.) A&S Farmars sidelock double rifle in 375H&H
3.) Marcel Thys sidelock double rifle in 458wm
4.) Custom 458 Lott on a Montana Rifleman action

frog,
the results will be different in the african hunting forum...
here, you'll see the 45 is generally the leader, due to cost of shooting....
here's what *I* expect, in terms of round shot...
45
416
375
510
470
423
everything else.....405, .550, .577, .488, etc

reason? well, there's the 45/70, 45/90, 45/110, 45 rcbs, 45/120, 450 marlin, 458 noveske/wsm, 458 american,450 alaskan,457WWG, 458win, 458 hem, 458 lott,458 watts, 458ar, 458 vincent short, 458 ackley, 458 vincent long458ph(3"), 450 rigby, 450 dakota, 460 weather, 460 ga, 460ga short, 450NE, 450NE2, and even the 45 blaser.

whew, 27 .458 bores, not counting the true "one offs" .. and they can all shoot the 12cent 405gr remington fp....

oh man, if i had done this list i might not had done the 458 AR

375s you have 375win, 38-55, 376steyr, 375 taylor, 375 flanged,375 jdj (same thingSmiler ) 375x300win, 375hh, 375 ai/weatherby, 375 ruger,378 webby... i am sure a missed a few

but not a single 404 so far.

This changes from time to time as I sell them and build them. but I will probably always have the above 3 rifles, unless someone buys them. I guess that I am just a gun whore and will sell any of them..

Oh c'mon... big bores start at .40 don't they. Well, I've got a Ruger No.1 in .375H&H anyway. Plus:

Ruger No.1 in .405Winchester
Custom Ruger No.1 in .500Jeffreys
Winchester Mdl 70 SS in .411/.416Rem Mag.
Marlin .45-70 1895 XLR SS

Alas, no large double rifle yet. Dealing for a Ruger RSM in .416Rigby but seller is a hard nut to crack.
